Trout, bass and crappie were all hitting well.  The aquatic weeds are still thick.  Anglers switched to single hooks below bobbers to keep out of the weeds. Night crawlers were the best choice for all catches.  This weekend weather will start to cool extending fishing catches into the later morning.

Largemouth and smallmouth bass have been biting in the mornings and in the evening when the sun is behind the mountains.  Stripers in the one-to-four-pound range have been caught off  Willow Fishing Pier or towards Katherine’s Landing. North of Cottonwood Cove, anglers have caught some sunfish on night crawlers and jigs. Catfish have been caught throughout the lake, mainly at night using anchovies.

Exciting news from Lake Mohave!

Exciting news from Lake Mohave! Our local angler, Mitch Jones, had a successful day landing stripers while fishing on Mark "Corn Man" Osgood's boat. They were using a trolling technique with swim baits near the coves around the power lines on the Arizona side of the lake. The Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery stocked more than 2,800 rainbow trout in the lower Colorado River at the fishing pier at the Willow Beach Marina on 6/29. The new pipe installation at the fishing pier will allow the hatchery to stock there regularly.
