Rainbow & Tiger Trout Action Have Been Good

Rainbow and tiger trout action has been good following recent trout plants. The fish are taking sparkle varieties of PowerBait and night crawlers. They are also taking spinners with yellow and red dots, as well as spoons. Bass and crappie fishing seem to be done for the year.

Striped bass action is steady from Cottonwood Cove to Willow Beach. The fish are hitting on swimbaits and anchovies. Anglers are finding good fishing for stocked rainbow trout following weekly fish plants at Willow Beach. PowerBait and night crawlers will catch the fish. Cooler mornings and lower daytime temperatures are providing great fishing opportunities for bass. Black bass and striped bass are hitting swimbaits and anchovies from shore. From the boat anglers are catching stripers by trolling swimbaits in the early morning and jigging in the afternoon. Both catfish and stripers are hitting anchovies fished off the bottom in the Overton Arm and Government Wash areas.

Rainbow Bite Continues To Be Good

The rainbow trout bite continues to be good throughout the area, with the fish taking a variety of lures and baits. Waterfowl hunters can double up on ducks and fish. Roads are in good condition and water levels are good.

Trout Have Been Hitting Well This Past Week

Rainbow, tiger, and brown trout have all been hitting well this past week. The Nevada Department of Wildlife recently stocked the reservoir with rainbows. Anglers are reporting good action with night crawlers, garlic PowerBait eggs, and Mepp’s spinners in both gold and silver. Temperatures are dropping into freezing range, making afternoons and evenings the most productive time of day.

Anglers are finding good fishing for stocked rainbow trout below Davis Dam and through Casino Row. Mouse tails and spinners have been catching the fish. Stripers in the 1- to 3-pound range have been hitting anchovies and jointed Glide Baits. Black Bass are hanging around the aquatic vegetation below Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area.

Anglers are reporting moderate success for stripers across the lake. Both shore anglers and boaters are finding success with anchovies fished just off the bottom. Best Action Has Been in The Morning or Late Afternoon

The best action has been found in the morning hours and late afternoon when the winds are calmest. Afternoon winds have made fishing difficult during that time of day. Trout have been taking rainbow PowerBait, night crawlers, and an assortment of ¼- to ½-ounce spinning lures and spoons. Water levels are holding steady and roads are in good condition.

Good Action For Rainbow & Tiger Trout

Both shoreline anglers and boaters have found good action for rainbow and tiger trout in the 10- to 12-inch range. The trout bite has been best through in the morning hours. Anglers are catching the fish with worms and PowerBait. Bass are still hitting baits but are doing so later in the day. Early morning temperatures have been dropping below the freezing mark.

 Rainbow trout have been biting well for the few anglers working the lake. Pink, orange, and green PowerBait have been productive. So too have small spinners for those using lures. Fly-anglers are catching trout and bass with dark colored Woolly Buggers.

Trout Are Biting Through Casino Row

One-pound stripers are taking cut anchovies from boaters and shore anglers above Big Bend. Larger stripers seem to prefer swimbaits, or a white Bomber Long A fished a couple of feet down. Trout are biting through Casino Row, and anglers are hitting this area hard. Black bass are hitting on plastics along the shelves in coves.

Stocked rainbow trout are providing good fishing for anglers following weekly plants by the National Fish Hatchery. Striped bass can be caught with trout imitations. including both soft plastics and jointed swimbaits. Anglers have been catching fish between 5 and 20 pounds. Cooler Mornings & Evenings

Anglers have been able to take advantage of cooler morning and evening temperatures to catch black bass, stripers, and catfish. Striped bass action has been good for shore anglers in the Las Vegas Bay area and boaters around the Boulder Islands. Anchovies, live shad, and jointed swimbaits are catching the fish.
