Thin Ice on Shoreline in The Mornings

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE

Eagle Valley Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The northern portion of the reservoir is covered by thin ice and is unsafe to walk on. Water around the fishing dock is still open for shore anglers. The few anglers who have tried their luck this week have done well using rainbow PowerBait. Rain and snow showers are expected to move out for the weekend. For up-to-date ice conditions contact Spring Valley State Park

Water Levels Slowly Rising

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Water levels will slowly rise throughout the fall and winter. Freezing overnight temps are putting a thin cover of ice near the intake, but there is still open water along a good portion of the dam. Rainbow trout action has been good using sparkle and bright colored PowerBait varieties. For up-to-date ice conditions contact Echo Canyon State Park at 775-962-5103.

Anglers Enjoying Weekly Rainbow Trout Plants

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers are enjoying the benefits of weekly rainbow trout plants.  Pink, green and yellow PowerBaits are producing the best action below Davis Dam, and small spinning lures are also catching the fish. The areas below Big Bend State Recreation Area and along Casino Row are providing good fishing for both trout and stripers. Stripers are hitting on anchovies off the bottom.

Striper Action Remains Steady

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striper action remains steady for boaters using shad and light-colored swim baits. Shore anglers are most successful in the evening using anchovies in the coves. Rainbow trout stocking continues each week at Willow Beach. Anglers are having the most success with PowerBait or worms.

Seasonal Trout Plants Have Begun

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Seasonal trout plants have begun. The Nevada Department of Wildlife will stock rainbow trout again this week at Floyd Lamb, Sunset, and Veteran’s Memorial Park ponds. The action for stocked rainbows has been very good for those using bright-colored garlic PowerBait and night crawler pieces. Anglers are catching bass and catfish at Floyd Lamb and Sunset parks on warm afternoons.

Striper Bite Has Been Best at Sunrise

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The striper bite is best at sunrise when they are feeding on shad.  Imitation shad and minnow swimbaits work well during this time, though live shad are generally the most productive bait. Anglers are still catching catfish, some as large as 6 pounds, on anchovies in the Hemenway Harbor area.  With cloudy days and chances of rain in the forecast, expect some variations in fishing

Stocked trout are taking Kastmasters, PowerBait, and night crawlers.

Overnight Temps Are Dropping Below Freezing

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Overnight temperatures are dropping below freezing, but trout action has been good overall. Rainbow and tiger trout are taking a variety of spinning lures and spoons. Rainbow Action is Great

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Rainbow trout action has been very good, but the best fishing has been found by those using boats or floatables to get away from the shoreline. Water levels continue to rise and that has anglers finding the best action along the dam. The fish are taking PowerBait in rainbow, orange or green colorations, as well as spinners.

Anglers Are Catching Limits of Strped Bass

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers are catching limits of striped bass near the south end of Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area. From shore or boat, striper fishing is good from below Davis Dam past Casino Row. Rainbow trout are hitting PowerBait, worms and Rooster Tails.

Catfish Action Has Been Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers have found good fishing for catfish at Veteran’s Memorial, Sunset, and Floyd Lamb parks. The fish have been taking night crawlers and hot dog pieces. The Nevada Department of Wildlife hopes to begin rainbow trout stockings for the Urban Ponds just before Thanksgiving. Before that can happen, however, the water temperature in the ponds needs to be steadily below 60 degrees.

Lake Mead Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striped bass are biting anchovies outside of Hemenway Harbor and Callville Bay Marina. Anglers are fishing from the shore and boats in depths of 50 to 60 feet. Most of the fish are in the 2- to 3-pound range. Anglers are still bringing in largemouth bass on plastics and shad imitations in coves that have good shoreline vegetation.

Striper Bite is Doing Okay

by RUSTY
Up on Lake Mohave the striper bite is doing ok with some anglers bringing in a few in the 4 to 8 pound range. This size is also being found her along the river below the Davis Dam. The Casino area has been one of the better spots. Now that our rainbow trout plant has started back up the trout fishing should be going well.
