Spooner has been fishing well and should continue to until the shoreline vegetation takes over in early summer. Damsel and leech patterns are working well. Chub populations continue to be an issue with some up to 12 inches eating flies and lures. Trout fishing has remained good here with the unseasonably cool start to summer. Bass fishing has been fair but should start to improve with 90’s filling the extended forecasts. Trout fishing will taper off but until then, damsel and midge remain some of the better flies. Small spinners are finding both bass and trout and can be lots of fun on the right day this

The lake is down and fishing is excellent. Walleye and carp fishing has been good and should continue until temps really climb. Bass fishing is really just starting to heat up with some sporadic white bass and wipers reported recently. Carp fishing with corn or dough bait during the warmest part of the day remains best while Walleye continue to show up throughout the day.

150cfs makes it little high for easy wading on the East Walker, but definitely low enough to get into some fish. Supplemental stocking will continue into the summer as conditions allow. Streamers are fishing well with the higher flows now but we should start to see a shift to some smaller nymphs and dries with the warmer weather. Hopper time is almost here! Spin fishing

Our urban ponds are just starting to shift into summer mode with the coming heat. Some of the warmer ponds will start to see the stocking slow or stop for the season. Fishing has been fair at Bilk for stocked and carryover trout. Bass should pick up with the heat and continue to be good in the afternoons till dusk. Worms off the bottom can be good in open water, otherwise the bobber is necessary to keep it off the bottom and out of the weeds.

Fishing for walleye, crappie, channel catfish and wipers will typically pick up when water temperatures get into the mid 50s. Fishing should get better as we near the end of June.

Fishing has been good for smallmouth and white bass using rooster tails, rubber worms, and bright colored jigs. Look for smallmouth and walleye around rocky structure and deeper drop offs. Fly Fisherman are picking up an occasional walleye or bass on chartreuse woolly buggers or clouser minnows fishing rocky points. Carp fishing has been good and can be found in most of the shallow bays.

An increase in the lake level is key to the fishery rebounding.

The fishing up on Lake Mohave is picking up with some smallmouth being picked up along the point while fishing the shelves. The largemouth are still watching the fry, this means while they are guarding the baby fish they will not be starting to feed until the fry are a bit larger. There has been reports of catfish near the telephone cove area.
