Pyramid remained near 86 percent of capacity, and fishing has been good for trout and striper. Trout anglers fooled fish while using dough baits, minijigs, nightcrawlers, and lures with the marina being the hot spot. A few huge striper fell for magnum swim baits, but most of the action has been on cut baits. Yellowbar, Serrano, and the marina all produced for bait anglers. Bass

Due to colder than average overnight temperatures much of the lake is covered with thin ice, leaving only a small open spot in the center. The ice is not thick enough for fishing. Willow Beach anglers are fishing south of the marina to avoid increasingly weedy shoreline areas. Double-digit stripers are taking jointed swimbaits along drop-offs. Soft shad swimbaits are getting the attention of stripers near the dam. Glide baits and topwater lures are tempting black bass in about 10 feet of water in coves.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife stocked rainbow trout in Beatty Pond and in the ponds at Veteran’s Memorial, Sunset, Lorenzi, and Floyd Lamb Parks last week. The fish have been biting on PowerBait, mealworms, and night crawlers, as well as small spinning lures and spoons.

Boaters are having luck with stripers up to 4 pounds in the Boulder Basin. Some are trolling soft swimbaits, and others are jigging in around 40 feet of water. Smallmouth and largemouth bass are hitting watermelon-colored worms and green pumpkin jigs. Crappie anglers are experimenting with tube jigs and swimbaits in the Overton Arm.

We have a couple of stripers are local anglers brought in while fishing up on Lake Mohave. Richard Erdmann and Raul Gonzalez had to troll for about 4 hours to land these 2 stripers. Richard's striper was 8.26 pounds and 29 and 1/2 inches while Rauls fish was 7/44 pounds at 27 and 1/4 inches. they were trolling with their favorite swim bait. I have
