The ranch fished excellent this week with reports coming in of anglers getting into an even mix of browns and rainbows and getting 15 to 25 fish per day. Sounds like the best time of the day has been between about 10 and 2 with the best success coming with nymphs. A couple fish have been caught on streamers but nymphing has been the best.

A nice fish caught by Brendan LaFountain on February 23. We were fishing with Hans Moxley of Hooked Up Guide Service (530) 546-2221 out of Carnelian Bay on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Ice conditions remain good with an average thickness of 8 to 10 inches. A group of scouts found good fishing over the weekend. Anglers are Limiting Out on Stocked Rainbow Trout

Anglers are limiting out on stocked Rainbow Trout below Davis Dam. The fish are taking sunset and chartreuse PowerBait. The marshy areas below Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area have produced a few Striped Bass ranging from 1 to 3 pounds. Cut anchovies and jointed lures are working for both boat and shore anglers. No reports for black bass below the dam.

Success for Smallmouth Bass
