Striped Bass Fishing is Good Below Davis Dam and Near Casino Row

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striped bass fishing is good below Davis Dam and near Casino Row but tends to become slower the further south you go.  Anchovies are bringing in catfish below the casino area, and there are still some smallmouth bass being caught in calmer coves along the river.  Stocked rainbow trout are dispersed from the dam to Big Bend State Recreation Area.  The fish are holding in

Rainbow Trout Action is Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Submerged vegetation along the shoreline has made fishing difficult in some places.  Anglers are still catching catfish in the coves using anchovies, though some have found success with homemade stink baits.  Striper action has slowed on much of the lake.  Rainbow trout action is good following trout plants below Willow Beach.

Striper Fishing is Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striper fishing is good for those anglers willing to brave chilly temperatures in the early mornings and at dusk.  If you are looking for live bait, Vegas Wash is the place to net some shad.  The stretch from Boulder Harbor to the Hemenway fishing pier has been fishing well.  Look for areas where birds are circling and diving, this can be an indicator of where

Good Solid Winter Fishing

by MATT KOLES
Good solid winter fishing on the Truckee River. Been a warm week for Truckee/ Reno standards. Trouts have responded accordingly. I’ve still been in Nevada floating all the lower stuff. Some snow for Christmas, but not looking like much after that. Gonna be a bit cold next week, but high pressure should build in and the fishing will be good for the foreseeable future. What we

Unsafe Ice

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Fluctuating temperatures have been causing havoc on the developing ice this past week.  For the most part the reservoirs have thin ice most of the day with areas opening up in the afternoons, but farther out into the center of the reservoirs for shore fishing is unsafe to walk upon.

Ice Fishing From the Dock

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Ice conditions remained unsafe this past week, with some areas opening up during the day, and refreezing overnight.  Fishing access is available by drilling holes in front of the fishing dock but stay on the dock to fish. The trout have been taking Powerbait in the usual orange or green colorations and nightcrawlers. For up to date ice conditions contact the park at 775-962-5102.

Laughlin Fishing Report!

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anchovies have proven productive for catfish and stripers.  Swim bait and Rat-L-trap lures are fooling stripers from Davis Dam to Casino Row.  PowerBait and spinners are working best for the stocked rainbow trout in the same areas.

Striper Action is Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striper action is good. Reports of fish as large as 10 pounds are coming from anglers fishing around Cottonwood Marina, but the fish are biting up and down the reservoir as well. Shore fishing is good in the coves. Catfish have been biting for shore fishers in coves with drop-offs.

Fresh Trout Plants

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Rainbow trout were planted last week into Floyd Lamb, Sunset, Veteran’s Memorial and Hafen Park ponds.  Trout will not be planted this week, but the hatchery expects to resume stocking the ponds the week of Christmas.

Striper Fishing has Been Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striper fishing has been good on Lake Mead in the Overton Arm and Las Vegas Wash areas. The fish have been biting on anchovies and live shad. There are reports of fisherman with catches averaging five or more stripers throughout Boulder Basin. Anglers continue to catch black bass on drop shot rigs in deeper waters at the south end of the Overton Arm.

Davis Dam Fishing Report

by RUSTY
The striper bite has slowed some there are some out there but the bite is a tad slow I suppose the fish are waiting for our anglers to try out their new rod and reel and that special stocking stuffer a lure or two. Our local angler Leroy Morin Jr. had  some luck while fishing from the shore using anchovies in the Rotary park area.

Good Winter Fishing on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Good winter fishing on the Truckee River. Weather was much more mild this last week.  Except for Monday, should be mild with high pressure building in until Christmas. So that should mean a good week -and weekend of fishing.  Flows have been bumped up on the Truckee River coming out of Boca.  Flows out of Stampede on the LT have been bumped up too. 350 or so
