Plenty of snow fell over the weekend, but it's melting off quickly with current sunny skies. Ice has been forming nightly around the lake edges, but mostly melts off by afternoon and trout action remains good using powerbait, night crawlers, small spinners and wooly buggers (dark coloration). In a recent fishing derby, a 5.7 pound and 4.7 pound trout were reeled in. PowerBait has worked well for many of the stocked trout while the larger holdovers from previous years seem to prefer lures.
