Flows on the Truckee River have held steady around 430 cfs through the Reno gauge. Recent storms have caused bumps in the flow, but overall the river has been in great shape. Temperatures on the river have also remained the same, starting the day below 60 degrees and ending the day near 68. Conditions are looking great for the end of summer and fall fishing

The river is still fishing well and it’s no surprise

What more can we say, the river is still fishing well and it’s no surprise. There has been little-to-no change in the flows this week and the upper river along town remains low at 125 CFS near Glenshire Bridge. However, with big releases coming out of Boca and cold water flowing in from the creeks downstream, the gauge at Farad continues to read 600 CFS.

Marlette has fished very well this season and should continue through the seasons close. Fly Fisherman using large streamers are catching good fish in open water. Shoreline anglers are finding some fish on the surface early in the morning. Midges, mayflies, and damsels are hatching throughout the day.

Bait fisherman using salmon eggs and baby crawlers under bobbers are catching fish all day.
