by RUSTY
Our local and visiting anglers are having some great catches here along the Colorado river. Thus far it’s below the Davis dam that is producing the best. I know that we will be getting some Lake Mohave news soon but for now the fishing is best below the dam. I have been hearing of some nice trout being landed in the community park area. This is

Truckee River Fishing Report-5-27-19

by MATT KOLES
More rain and snow. Good for fishing, not much fun for anything else. I’ve been mostly down on the Nevada side of the Truckee River just to get out of the rain, that, and I have the whole place to myself. Good solid fishing. Normally, I’d be done floating the river down there around this time just because it’s too hot, not this year. Flows have remained steady

No One Fishing At The Ranch This Week

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
We haven’t had anyone on the ranch this past week, it should be fishing pretty much like the California and Rosachi sections of the EW though. As stated above the flows make things more difficult but not impossible.

Can You Still Catch and Release Macks After Catching a Limit?

by CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE
Question:  When fishing for mackinaw trout on Lake Tahoe, how is it legal to clearly video yourself catching six fish but then giving them away to your buddies? The limit for macks is two fish, but in this video the person keeps one on the stringer and then gives the rest away to his buddies until they all have limits together. I am assuming that if he’s posting

Fish Are Hitting Plastics

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Recent snow and sleet storms in the area have made fishing difficult.  Storms are predicted to continue off and on through the weekend. Adams-McGill is doing well for largemouth bass. The fish are hitting plastics. Trout fishing is good at Dacey and Cold Springs for those throwing spinners. All reservoirs are full.

Trout Fishing Has Been Good

Despite recent storms, anglers have found good fishing for rainbow, tiger and brown trout.  Red and gold Mepp’s spinners have been the top lure this last week. Fly-fishers are catching bass and trout with black and olive Woolly Buggers.

Rainbow Action Has Been Good

Rainbow trout action has been good for those using PowerBait or throwing spinning lures. Largemouth bass and crappie are taking plastics and jigs.

Striper Action is Good

Lake Mohave Fishing Report

Early mornings are proving to be the best time to pursue stripers south of Cottonwood Basin. The line sides are taking Rat-L-Traps and jointed shad imitations near coves. Willow Beach is offering good action for striped bass and rainbow trout. The trout will take Rooster Tails and sunset-colored PowerBait. Black bass are hitting plastics and crankbaits around Cottonwood Cove.

Anglers fishing from shore at Hemenway Pier have been catching stripers with anchovies. Black bass are hiding out in submerged vegetation near Temple Bar.

Good Solid Fishing on The Truckee

by MATT KOLES
Good solid fishing on the Truckee River. Some rain and snow this last weekend, ugh. I guess by this weekend it will be nice again. Flows have dropped to under 3000 k. About 2,700 here in the Hirsch. Little lower through Reno and about 3000 k through the Conservancy. They were 1000 cfs higher last week. Flows haven’t been this low in months, and it’s still big. Crazy,
