Still getting good reports from the ranch

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
Still getting good reports from the ranch, lots of nice fish in the 14 to 20 inch range there. most of the same patterns that are working on the Rosachi will also work on the Sceirine. Give is a call if you’d like to reserve some time on the ranch.

Pyramid Lake Report

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
We wish we had some good news for you. Unfortunately, with regards to the fishing at Pyramid this week, we don’t. The fishing out here remains poor, to put it nicely. If you are very tuned in to this lake, and have some of the subtle nuances dialed in, then yes, you will find a few fish. But that should say something. This is normally

The Truckee has seen a steady increase in flows again this week

by THE TROUT FITTER STAFF
The Truckee has seen a steady increase in flows again this week, and this trend will likely continue for the next couple of months. The California Watermaster has begun to release around 200 CFS out of Lake Tahoe, and with the amount remaining on the mountains in the Tahoe Basin, the section along Highway 89 should be flowing well for most of the spring and

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
With most of our fish in spawn, the fishing has been really slow. But it's time to go after the striper, as that bite should be doing well. Up on Lake Mohave, watch for boils of shad; the striper should be right there, with anchovies producing some great catches. Even a couple of jigs in various colors should work well. The coves above the power

Baily is fishing excellent and has been stocked well this spring

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Baily is fishing excellent and has been stocked well this spring.  The most consistent way of catching fish at Baily is salmon eggs under the bobber. Fly fisherman slowly retrieving peacock bodied nymphs will find fish just about any time.  Stocking will continue until the heat really sets in this summer. With summer the heat, the sunfish bite should really fire up.

Sparks Marina Tiger Trout Stocking

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The local media and community members joined us today as we stocked the Sparks Marina with 2,500 tiger trout from the Mason Valley Fish Hatchery! The goal is to provide more fishing opportunity for the community to enjoy! NDOW tries to stock community ponds every two weeks when conditions permit, which is typically from March through June and then again in September through October. See all

The East Walker on the California side of the state line is closed until April 27. 2024. The Nevada side of the river is open through the Winter.  The flows on theEW are still at about 125 cfs, not sure how long that great flow will last but it’s working great for now. The fishing has been very good down there with lots of nice fish

Spring, but mostly Winter still on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Spring, but mostly Winter still on the Truckee River. The weathers looking good for next week though. I know clouds and rain and snow are great for fishing, but at this point, I need some sunshine. We are going into the big fish time on the Truckee RIver. Spring is great for that. Flows are going to ramp up which they are starting to do. Releases

Angler Report: Topaz Lake

by FISH REPORTS STAFF
Sam checked in with us after his trip out to Topaz Lake: Went to Topaz on April 2, and we trolled up 5 rainbows on both the west and east shoreline. Lots of life noted again today. My quest is to solve the question of what the life is. F5 rapalas in black and gold and hot steel were producing today but noted a pretty small

Fly fishing at Pyramid Lake has improved in the last few days

by RENO FLY SHOP
Fly fishing at Pyramid Lake has improved in the last few days and we are looking forward to the storm coming in this weekend. While fishing has in fact been slow through the month of March, things are looking up as an increasing number of fish are showing up in the shallows. The consistency of fish in close to the shoreline will only help the

Fly fishing on the Truckee River has continued to be stellar through the beginning of April!

by RENO FLY SHOP
Fly fishing on the Truckee River has continued to be stellar through the beginning of April! Flows have come up slightly and that has fish on the feed. Looking forward into the week, we have a storm system coming in from Friday through around Sunday. Temperatures are expected to drop and this should bring flows on the Truckee down a bit. With colder water temperatures

March Ended on A High Note, April is Shaping Up Nicely

by PYRAMID FLY CO.
Fish reports are definitely accurate at one thing, and that’s telling how it was at the lake, not necessarily how it going to be. What we are trying to say is that everyday is different at Pyramid, and patterns rarely repeat themselves in any given frequency. When you get down to it, put in the time and you will reap the reward of getting something

Pyramid Lake Fishing Report

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
Pyramid is slow off the shore due to pre-spawn and spawning fish. Trolling is a bit better than the shore bite in 30 to 70 feet of water. Use Sierra Spoons, J plugs, and flatfish to troll at 2 or 3 miles per hour. Shore flies you should strip a beetle and a black tadpole with a full sink line. Under the bobber double midges

Indicator nymphing has been the best technique

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
Water Conditions The main Truckee is flowing at 199 CFS in Tahoe City, 265 in downtown Truckee, and 736 CFS at Farad. The water is cold and swift this time of year, so wade with caution. Please remember that Trout Creek to Prosser Creek is fly only, catch and release. Tips for the Week Indicator nymphing has been the best technique with longer leaders of 10 or 11

Over the last 7 days we have seen the Truckee come up another 100-150 CFS

by THE FLY SHOP
Over the last 7 days we have seen the Truckee come up another 100-150 CFS with a large spike on Wednesday as this latest system started as rain and has since turned into snow. The flows have started to decline and should even out to around 600-700 as early as this weekend. There has been a decrease in visibility across most of the river system

The Marina has been stocked twice this season and is fishing well

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The Marina has been stocked twice this season and is fishing well. Bait fishing with worms off the bottom or under a bobber should be good with water temps currently prime. Power bait and other dough baits will also produce fish just off the ledge near the fishing dock. Spin fisherman willing to put in the time are doing well working jigs and small spinners

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
Yep, it's me again. Fishing has been a bit slow lately, so here I am with a couple of nice-sized panfish, or sunfish as some call them. I released them after taking the picture. We have a healthy population of these fish along the Colorado River, especially in the still water areas. On Lake Mohave, these panfish aren't as large as those in the Havasu

We had very good news from the ranch as well this week with lots of fish being caught

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
We had very good news from the ranch as well this week with lots of fish being caught in the 14 to 18 inch range, both on nymphs and streamers. We didn’t hear anything about dries but the others did very well this week. We’re starting to get more bookings as the water is still pretty low so if you want to get on the
