Carson River Fishing Report

Flows on the E. Carson are under 100 and the main fork is likely at a trickle below Carson now and for the remainder of summer. Burn areas should be avoided if at all possible. The heat has fishing fair to slow on Tahoe. Cooler temperatures will help bring fish up. Shore anglers are using small spinners for planted trout and larger spoons for larger rainbows and browns around boulders or other structure.

Topaz has been fishing well, shore anglers with powerbait and boaters trolling flash rigs are doing the best. Crawlers off the bottom have also been productive early and late in the day. Finding the deeper water has been key. Fishing for trout should remain good and productive through fall.

Limited Access For Parking

Bite Has Been Consistent

Bite had been very consistent with limits plus daily. We have been starting out trolling and switching over to jigging midway. Definitely larger fish on troll but lots action on jigs!

Early Morning Bite

Today we had great numbers by 8 am and all except 2 were 4-6 lbs. the grandsons did great and we kept just enough fir family dinner! Released dozen or more!

Fishing Has Been Good on The North End

The boat inspection stations are up at Spooner summit and in Meyers CA. You can not launch a boat that has not been verified and tagged. Fishing has been good on the North end of the lake from Cal/Neva to Tahoe City. Tahoe Kokanee Today

Well went Kokanee trolling today. Been many years since I’ve trolled for them. We generally jig for them because most years they are 12-16 inches which I feel like we’re making bait. Good years they run 15-20 inches and excellent years 18-24 which is rare these days. Grabbed 15 out of 20 in hour and half then moved off for a few lakers. Most were 12-14

Over the past two weeks, Lahontan NFH has continued to stock Lake Tahoe with Pilot Peak Lahontan cutthroat trout on the Nevada side for conservation and recreational angling opportunities. Anglers who catch a FLOY tagged LCT are encouraged to call the hotline number on the tag. Reporting your catch helps us collect vital information on LCT growth, survival, and movement in Lake Tahoe.
