Conditions Should Remain Good Through Spring

Carson River

Early spring flows on the Carson are about 150 cfs and fishing has been good. Conditions should remain this way until we really heat up and start to see some snow melt. Cold Temps Are Helping To Bring The Fish Up

Good reports of small macs at the moment. The cold temps are helping to bring the fish up. This is the best time of year to find larger rainbows and browns near the surface, making them accessible to shore anglers. As The Ice Melts Off Fishing Should Pick Up

Spooner Lake

Spooner Lake remains open to fishing during the winter months but is largely effected by ice. As the ice comes off, fishing should be good with spinners and worms off the bottom. Fly fisherman using larger leech patterns and woolly buggers behind float tubes in open water are finding the occasional larger trout off the submerged vegetation.

Fishing Has Been Spotty Due To Recent Weather

The lake level has leveled off and has not risen for a couple weeks. The Nevada Department of Wildlife has planted about 10,000 trout over the last month. Fishing has been spotty due to the recent weather events.

Topaz Lake Report

We checked in with Topaz Lake today. Things have been pretty slow on the lake, with shoreline anglers doing okay with Powerbait and worms, with some boat traffic on the lake as well. There has been some talk of a 9 & 10 lb. Rainbow being caught but no photos of them yet.
