Our 1st place winner was Michal Yau of Reno with a 5lb 10z 23 1/2in. 2nd Place winner was Connie Young with a 4lb 13oz 23 in of Minden Nv. We have so far 197 2lbs trout turned in and 1 tagged fish was caught this week. Both shore and boat fishing is doing well and mostly on power bait and worms.

TOPAZ LAKE DERBY RESULTS - Week 3, first place was Linda Stockton from Yerington NV with a 6.6 lb 25" rainbow. Second place was Ed Zile with a 6.5 lb  23" rainbow. For the first week of the derby, 100 trout were weighed in over 2 lbs. There were five tagged fish brought in. Remember that each tagged trout brought in no matter what the weight is, is worth $100 cash. Week one results, 1st place is Dustin Parker from Gardnerville with a tagged 9.4 pound 24 1/2 inch trout. Lake Tahoe has benefitted from a historic winter and is full for the first time in a decade. East Fork of the Carson has come down to winter flows and ice has become an issue. Anchor ice is effecting the majority of the East Fork of the Carson River. Stale conditions will likely continue until we see temperatures climb or flows fluctuate and break ice.

Lake Tahoe Fish Report

Fishing has been very good for good sized mackinaws and some larger rainbows and browns have been reported. Mac action has been by the Cave Rock area and the Tahoe shelf. Some anglers have been long linning Rapalas from Camp Richardson to Emerald Bay.

Opens January 1, 2018. The Nevada Department of Wildlife has planted 11,000 trout since the lake closed for the season. The water level is very high and is expected to be at almost full capacity for opening day.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife has planted the Carson River at the Deer Run and the Pinon Hills bridge. Fishing is open all year on the Carson River in Nevada.
