Fishing in between rain storms has been a challenge this week. My advice is to get up there early and leave early. Tom and I fished from 6 am to 2 pm on Wednesday. We fished Rapalas and Needlefish lures. The bite was fair and we caught and released 17 fish ranging from 12 inches to a few pounds. We also kept 2 fish in

Fishing has been slow for trollers. I ventured up with fellow angler Tom Blotter last week. We still fished with Powerbait and Berkley Gulp for the morning hours. Tom had me 7 to 2 fish on the fish count. We then trolled Rapalas in on the south end and we picked up a few more. Most trout were in the 12 to 17 inch class.

I talked with fellow angler and long time friend Dan Maldonado. He fished a couple weeks ago with his wife and had good success on the California side with various colors of powerbait. Dan told me the rainbows were 14 to 19 inches and very clean and healthy. If you decide to do some trolling, I would get out early and be off the lake by

A lot of water in the lake, which is pleasant to see. 3 times now, they've gotten close to capacity and they divert the water around Red Hill. The inlet area is off color far sade near the campgrounds will be better. Bass fishing is sporatic right now.

It's pretty close to fishable (not really wadable) We'll be taking a water temp next week to let NDOW know the temps for a stocking, though we'd prefer it to be down to the 500 cfs level so the fish are not swept into

The transition has started from spring to summer fishing. You may have to work a little harder for the mac's. Most have come in at 1 to 6 lbs with a few in the 7 to 19 lb class. Best action has been the Tahoe City shelf or the Sugarpine Point area. Dodger and a minnow is most productive. The Chrome dodger and a white

The water level has been up to capacity then down a little over the last couple weeks. A few reports for shore anglers on the east side of the lake in the county park. The water level is up, but beware of the floating debris coming in from the run off. Early morning has been more productive for anglers using blades and a night crawler. Asd the sun comes up you need to go deeper. Shore angler shave had fair success with power bait. With the cloud cover and cooler temps, this would be  good weekend to fish the

The river is running strong and fast. Not many anglers out this year due to the conditions. The river has not been planted due to water conditions. But the Alpine Chamber of Commerce will be loading up the rivers as soon as the conditions calm down. For more information, stop by the Carson River Resort.

The lake level has been fluctuating up and down for the couple weeks. the early morning bite has been fair. As the sun rises, boat anglers need to go deeper. Best shore action has been on the California side or the farthest south area on the Nevada side. Be mindful this weekend as there will be anglers as well as skiers on the lake. If
