Shoreline anglers are having luck fishing on the southwest side of the lake, catching rainbow trout in the 15″-18” range, with a few brown trout in the mix. A worm 5′ under a bobber is the go-to for spin anglers, while fly anglers continue to have success with leech patterns.

Ice is only measuring a couple of inches thick, with an 18-inch ring of open water around the northern shoreline. With projected weather conditions and temperatures, it is expected that these ice conditions will continue to degrade.

After measuring from 4 different locations off of our boat ramp, we have lost .5” of the good clear ice. We are at 6.5” currently and 7” of slush on top. We have been receiving some pretty nasty winter weather this past week which seems to be doing good things for the reservoir. Measurement that we took today are showing 7” of clear ice and a top layer of about 5” of slush/cloudy ice. Remember, these measurements were taken around the boat ramp and are not intended to be interpreted as thickness for the whole reservoir.
