Lyon County Fish Reports

We haven't had any clients on the Sceirine for to least a month, the fishing should be about the same down there as on the California side of the EW. If you want to have some water to yourself just give us a call and we can get you hooked up!

The ranch is fishing excellent as well, one of the keys to fishing with these lower flows both on the Cali and Nevada side is to focus more on the deeper sections where there are more fish hanging out.

The ranch is also fishing very well, mostly the same patterns as on the California side. They've also been picking up some fish on dark lords and prince nymphs. The streamer action has been very good on the ranch too.

The ranch has also been fishing very well, most anglers reporting 15 to 25 fish per day. Lots of nice fish going over 20 inches. Pretty much the same patterns as on the California side have been working, also they've been doing pretty well with some dry/dropper rigs as well.

The ranch is fishing excellent as well, the water is a couple degrees cooler down on the ranch and there's some very nice rainbows and browns being landed down there. Silver streaks, san juan worms, dead drift crayfish, copper johns, dark lords and flashback emergers have all been doing well.

The dry action has been a little better on the ranch than on the Cali side, stimulators, caddis and chernobyl ants have been doing well in addition to the patterns that are working on the Cali side.

The Sceirine has been fishing excellent this past week, lots of fish being caught down there each day. There are plenty of fish in the 20 to 22 inch range being landed as well. Silver streaks, San Juan worms, copper johns, dark lords, prince nymphs and flashback emergers have all been doing well.

The ranch is still fishing well, it's gotten a little tougher this month but the fish down there are still pretty grabby. These fish see so much less pressure than much of the rest of the river that they seem to not get as picky as in other stretches. The Sceirine started off a little tough early in the week but the last 3 or 4 days have been excellent. Several clients reported having 20 to 30 fish days with both browns and bows making a good showing and some fish going well over 20 inches. It seems that dry/dropper rigs and streamers have been doing the best. Zuddlers, zonkers and double bunnies have been good streamer patterns, in bright colors like yellow and white. Chubby Chernobyls or stimulators with a PT or zebra dropper have been doing well also.

Also nymphs like princes, dark lords and pheasant tails have been doing well in addition to the flies mentioned. above.

The Sceirine fished excellent this week, all the clients that we had a chance to talk to after fishing had great reports and lots of smiles. Of course the great thing about the Ranch is that there is limited access so you can have some pristine water to yourself when you're down there.

The Sceirine has been fishing well this week, dry dropper rigs have probably been doing the best. A designated hitter or chubby chernobyl on top and you can drop a prince, pheasant tail, dark lord or various midge patterns off the bottom.

Anglers are catching fish on a variety of methods from both shore and from float tubes. Retrieving just about anything with an intermediate line will work but without a doubt the best fishing is under an indicator with Pyramid sized midges and nymphs.
