Some big boys and girls have been coming to shore this week and the winter storms have been bringing more fish closer the beach.  Anglers are seeing quite a few fish in the 3-6lb mark with some standout 19lbers in the mix.  Give us a call if you are interested in fishing this area as we have dates available for the remainder of the month.

Week 5 fishing derby was a little slow despite the good weather.  We have had 116 2lbs and over turned in so far.  Our biggest fish of the week was Bob Brister of Topaz Ranch Estates with a 9lb 4.8oz 26in rainbow.  2nd Place was Jackie Davis with a 7lb 6.3 27in rainbow.  We have been hearing that shore fishing is doing better then boat

Saturday started off slow and Mother Nature decided to rough us up a bit.  Once we got into some calmer water in the afternoon we started getting some fish.  Including Johnny and Zack’s largest trout they have ever caught.

US Fish and Wildlife Service will be planting about 124,000 Pilot Peak LCT (about 5 inches) at Blockhouse and Pelican over the next couple of weeks.

Fishing from ladders has become synonymous with Pyramid Lake. Specifically during the spring season, as temperatures rise and people come out from hibernation and begin lining up awaiting their chance to land a truly monstrous trout. Most people are unaware of the reasoning behind ladder fishing and its true purpose at Pyramid Lake. I hope to break down the elements and reasons for using ladders

Rolling right through Winter.  Good solid fishing on the Truckee River.  Remember, Winter is not the time for lots of fish, but quality fish, yes. On Monday, went out solo and trolled for a few hours. Landed 5 total, 4 were small stockers and 1 was about 1.5 pounds.  Trolled the north side of the lake with rapalas.  Water temp was 42.9 degrees and water was glass.  Spoke to anglers at the ramp and they worked the south side trolling nightcralwers behind flashers.  They picked up what looked like an

Another stellar day yesterday on the lake. Had Marty and John out for a boat trip. Lots of hook ups with some nice fish landed. Including Johns 13lb tank! Quite a birthday surprise. Great guys had a blast!

Lots of fish moving in tighter to the beach. Good opportunity now for fly fisherman.Water temperatures have now reached the 52 degree mark and the big cutthroat trout have moved in shallow. We have been seeing fish to 14.5 lbs with some even pushing the 20lb mark. Popcorn Beatles, Midnight Cowboys,#12 Copper and Black Tiger Midges, Parallel Assassins, and Spruce-a-bu’s working well.   Call for more

Anthony fished Topaz again Sunday the 20th. It was windy and raining. Good chop on the water. Trolled for about 3 hours. Landed 5 and missed 3. All came on Rapala (3ft-5ft) down 3 on a brown trout pattern and 2 on shad colored.

Changed things up yesterday. Had Brian, Megan and Brian and had an exciting day trolling. Got plenty of bites and landed some nice fish. It ended up being the Megan show with the hot rod in the boat. Great day with some super people.
