Western Nevada Fish Reports

The Truckee River has really cooled off from our last report.  The River east of the downtown gauge has been starting the day in the high 30’s and only warming to the low 40’s.  This has shut fish down until the afternoon when the water temperatures do warm.  Fish have also migrated into the pools or the very back of runs to conserve energy.  In

Few keepers for yesterday.  As boat warms up this morning the clarity of the sky and brightness of stars is ridiculous. Can see satellite, shooting stars, all the clusters. Early morning benefits!

Cold nights, brisk days on the Truckee River. Great day at the lake! Joe got his fish of a lifetime on the fly today! 16 pound 8oz beast on a popcorn beetle.  Congratulations Joe!

November is the new October on the Truckee River. Should be a much better month fishing wise on the Truckee River.  While most of the Rockies are getting snow, it’s been warm in the Sierra’s. Last few weeks of October and this last week were just too hot/sunny for good fall fishing.  We had some good days, but all in all not that consistent fall fishing
