More fall colors today with some being Rainbow, Brown, and Laker grey to gold! Mixed in awesome sunrise! We couldn’t ask for stronger bite today and yes we let go a good number too for the catch and release guys.

Pretty good solid fishing on the Truckee River. I think we had a great Advanced Fly Fishing Clinic this weekend. Most of the dudes have been out with me before, so not sure who much they learned, but we did do the clinic deep on the NV side, so at least it was new water. I have changed a few different leader rigs and things so…That,

Anglers have been catching plenty of stripers, bass and catfish both from shore and around the lake over the past week using a variety of baits. Stripers have been biting most consistently on baits such as sardines, chicken liver, night crawlers and trolling around the points have also been working pretty well over the past week. Catfish have been caught off anchovies and chicken liver,

Kyle Blanchard of Virginia City and Harrison Collins were out at Topaz Lake fishing in the canal on October 26th. Harrison landed on this brown and Kyle caught the bass on a spinner. Kyle says that there are a ton of bass out there right now and some Rainbows and Browns. It appears that the Smallmouth Bass are taking over.

Little late on the post. Had some long days floating the river on the Nevada side. Good solid fishing. Good streamer fishing starting too. Wishing we could get some weather coming in again. We’re sitting under a ridge of high pressure, cold nights, warms days. If we could just get that cloud cover. I’ve been spending all my guide trips in Nevada- so these reports are about that

Fishing is open all year in Nevada. The NDOW planted the broken dam above Gardnerville a couple weeks ago.

Yesterday was a perfect fall day.  Great Lakes fishing.  Only found one lil rainbow after the Mack’s and it got greasy calm so we went back out and did catch n release!  See what bites today!

Yesterday we had three of the four species available from Tahoe.  Kokanee are spawning or I would have tried for the grand slam.  Browns to 3 lbs, A Rainbow and great early mack action!  Browns and Bow were released and I should have got better pics.  Looking forward to next 30 days as bite should get great!

Good to really good up here on the Truckee River.  October is always a good month on the river as long as the weather cooperates.  It has, meaning we’ve actually had some weather.  Not an extended summer. I’m still spending most of my time on the Nevada side of the Truckee River, down lower in and around The Nature Conservancy.  Good stuff, big fish. I opened

Took out my wife’s cousins today. Absolutely howling east cold wind but got limits of Lakers and couple rainbows before we were numb!
