Hello fellow anglers, I hope Santa was good to you.  We are coming up with in a few days of the Topaz opener, which is January 1,2019.  The water level is coming up, but still down from last years opener.  A couple new things this year.  First and most important, Where else can you get paid to go fishing.  The Topaz Lodge annual fishing derby

A cold last few days on the Truckee River. High’s are struggling to get into the 30’s all over the Truckee/ Reno areas.  With the North wind blowing, it makes it feel much much colder.  Serious man, or lady weather if you go fishing right now. Layer and wear as much shit as you can. As far as the fishing, well, it’s pretty good despite the cold.

Did some ice fishing this morning, ice on the deck, ice on the lines, pretty much ice on everything. but for these two guys braving the bitter cold.... NICE fish

Cold days and big winds bring the big fish in!  Not a lot grabs but when they hit they’ve been better quality fish.  I have some open days ahead contact me if interested in chasing some monster cutty’s!

Good solid winter fishing on the Truckee River. Been a warm week for Truckee/ Reno standards. Trouts have responded accordingly. I’ve still been in Nevada floating all the lower stuff. Some snow for Christmas, but not looking like much after that. Gonna be a bit cold next week, but high pressure should build in and the fishing will be good for the foreseeable future. What we

Good winter fishing on the Truckee River. Weather was much more mild this last week.  Except for Monday, should be mild with high pressure building in until Christmas. So that should mean a good week -and weekend of fishing.  Flows have been bumped up on the Truckee River coming out of Boca.  Flows out of Stampede on the LT have been bumped up too. 350 or so
