Fishing Guide Hans Moxley checked in this afternoon with an update from Lake Tahoe. Today we had a split trip with a two great groups. We had very good fishing for Macks. We ended up with 7 Macks for our group of 4 anglers. We were one short of limits. Full was had by all.

Some of my fondest memories growing up were fly fishing the Truckee River in the mid 1970’s with my dad. Back then it was a rarity to see someone using a fly rod while plying the river’s currents, and when we did see such a person, my dad would make it a point to introduce himself and talk about fly fishing with a complete stranger.

Still big pumping flows on the Truckee River. Flows have dropped a bit from last week, but the river is still above flood stage. About 4,500 cfs today in the Hirsch.
