Lake trout fishing remains good. It’s a deep water bite but is solid throughout the day. Browns are more elusive but can be found in the shallows in the early morning.  Mike Nielsen (530) 721-0593; (530) 546-4444; 530-412-1800

Pyramid Lake has been awesome at times and slow at times

by MIKE CURTIS
June 1st. The water temps are up in the high 50's now. Fish are starting to cruise in really shallow water. There have been some awesome days and some slow days mixed in. The water is coming up fast in conjunction with the run-off coming down the Truckee River. The significance of the water coming up is it is virtually impossible to wade out to

The Truckee has been good but be mindful of the flows

by MIKE CURTIS
The Truckee is coming out of Lake Tahoe at 68 CFS. There is so much water in all of the other creeks that there is no need to take it from the Lake right now. The river is fishable between Tahoe City and the confluence of Prosser Creek. It gets higher as you go downstream but it does not get out of control until Boca

Wind, snow have hampered efforts of late. An 11.4 brown was caught Friday by guide Mike Nielsen. Otherwise the catch usually is  two to four pound browns, but not many. Lake trout are plentiful down 150 to 200 feet. Water temps is 42.9 so the shallow water bite is slow. Mike Nielsen (530) 721-0593; (530) 546-4444; 530-412-1800

One minute it’s snowing and the next the sun is out so the bite has been fickle. Guide Mike Nielsen is catching browns from the morning to mid-day. Mackinaw can be caught throughout the day in deep water (120 to 220 feet deep). There has been no rhythm to the bite. It can be good one day and not so the next. Mike Nielsen (530)
