Weather fluctuations have made fishing uneven. Weekend fishing was very good. A 13-pound trout won a weekend derby and a lot of 11 pound and 9 pounders also were landed. The nets are closed so most fishing is in the south end of the lake or near Pelican. (530) 541-8208; (775) 476-0400

Boaters get quality numbers trolling Flatfish or Torpedoes near the nets, Pelican and Warrior. Last weekend the complaint was it was too calm for quality fly fishing, now wind gusts have made fly fishing problematic.  The President's weekend derby runs this Saturday and Sunday from Crosby's.
