Good reports from anglers catching Rainbows and Brook Trout. Try using water beetle patterns or black birds nest for flies. Artificial lures with single barbless hooks only. Limit is 5 trout only, one of which is longer than 14 inches.

Reports on the Truckee have been roughly the same since last report. Water temp are starting to change so late evening and early morning is becoming a factor. Fly Anglers have reported great fishing lately catching rainbows and tiger trout. Try using zug bugs and sheep creeks. Spooner has been fishing well for bank anglers where areas are clear of weeds. Hinkson Slough has been picking up lately with good action all day. Midge patterns and wooly buggers have been working. Sheep creek patterns have worked well according to local angler Chuck Hone. There has also been some bass success using spinner baits.

Whiper Bass and White Bass fishing have been excellent almost anywhere in the lake. Beach 6 has been the most productive, but don't limit yourself. Any lure, buzz bait, spinner bait or jig will work. Western Region Game Warden Tyler Turnipseed reports great action at the Pit Taylor area for crappie. A State record of 3 pounds was almost broken over Memorial Day Weekend. Try using chartreuse color crappie jigs Walleye below and above the dam. Try using white crappie jigs white or yellow 1/8 oz.

Chris and Jeri Grellman of Sparks of Hog Charters (358-5199): Jeri reported: Chris, our step-daughter and her husband were out last Saturday. They trolled with Apex lures on the east side of the lake. The three of them caught and released 25 Cutthroat, with only one of the fish under 19 inches.

Todd Sodaro and Chad Machado of the Carson River Resort (877-694-2229): Everyone still catching fish. David White of Rio Vista caught a 3.3 pound rainbow on a nightcrawler, Devon Rackle of San Jose a 3.5 pounder on a Panther/Martin lure and Gene Ward of Crockett a 4-pounder on red Salmon eggs.

Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): It was windy over the weekend, but the few fishermen out, were catching fish. Nothing big, as the bigger fish seem to have gone deeper to cooler water. There is hardly any water coming into the lake, right now.

Don Hettrick and Don Quilici of Carson City, plus Rich Bachle of Fernley trolled in "The Narrows" last Thursday. They caught and released several hundred small White Bass and one Sacramento Perch. The fish were hitting any lure that looked like a small fish.
