Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): On Sunday, Ricky Howard of Coleville caught a 6-pound, 6-ounce Largemouth Bass from shore on the south end with a Rapala lure. On Friday, Joe Buffo of Minden caught a 3-pound, 14-ounce rainbow while trolling at the south end with flashers and a nightcrawler. Sunday, two other boat anglers reported limits of average size rainbows.

Largemouth Bass fishing is still very good. They are using plastic or rubber worms, both from shore and float tubes. One angler was even catching them with a rubber frog.?Į?Į

Missy at Burke's Market at Silver Springs (775-577-2750): We are estimating 25,000 to 40,000 people will be out here over the holiday weekend.

George and Carla Molino of the Pyramid Lake Store at (775) 476-0555: Yesterday was a little slow, we (Pyramid Lake Charters) only caught 8. The day before, we caught 20, up to 6 pounds. The shore fishing has slowed down a little, and the fishing is not as good as it was before. ?Į

West Carson River: Dave Kirby reported: It is nice shape. The state planted last week and some fish were being caught over the weekend. ?Į

Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): The water level is starting to drop already. It was pretty slow over the weekend, with not a lot of people. I only saw 5 boats all weekend plus a couple of shore fishermen. We are starting to get jet skis and water skiers now.

Largemouth Bass fishing is very good right now. One fisherman caught and released 30 bass in 2 hours on Saturday morning. Another fisherman did very well late Saturday and late Sunday. They are using plastic or rubber worms, both from shore and float tubes. There has been good fishing off the bank by the dike. The largest bass was a 5.5 pounder. ?Į

Missy at Burke's Market at Silver Springs (775-577-2750): I have a photo of a fisherman holding two beautiful Walleye that look about 28 inches long and they were caught over by the dam. Lots of Walleye being caught all over the lake. Nightcrawlers are working better than anything else.

Don Hettrick, Bob McCulloch and Don and Elaine Quilici, all of Carson City, fished in their chest waders at the far south end of the lake, last Thursday morning. Spincasting with lures was very slow with about one fish per hour. The cutthroat were in the 2-pound class. Lots of moss.

Gene St. Denis: I've been fishing 25-160 feet deep at Ski Run Shelf and the Tahoe Keys Shelf. Trolling with silver Herring Dodger flasher blades and large lures. The Macks have been running 2-5 pounds.

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is proposing a number of major changes for fishing activities at Pyramid Lake. That large desert lake is located on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Indian Reservation. Among the proposed changes are: Hooks shall be single and barbless. The possession and/or use of downriggers will be prohibited. Trout fishing is prohibited from July 1 through and including Sept. 30 and also from March

ndy at The Gilly Sporting Goods Store: Fishing has been on again and off again due to the weather. Not much happening. There is a late afternoon hatch.

Todd Sodaro of the Carson River Resort (877-694-2229): Josh Hughes of Napa caught a 5-pound, 7-ounce rainbow on orange Power Bait on Monday morning. Doug Tollis of Campbell caught a 3-pound, 9-ounce rainbow on green label Salmon eggs.

Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): It was spitting snow and darn cold this last weekend. We had a group of 30 boat fishermen from Modesto and they were out there fishing and catching fish. Their biggest fish was 2-pounds, 8-ounces caught while trolling flasher blades and worms.

Bass fishing has really turned on. Late last Friday afternoon, Mike Zahradka of Yerington caught and released 20 bass in 45 minutes with a Banjo Minnow.

Missy at Burke's Market at Silver Springs (775-577-2750): Fabulous fishing with the warmer weather. They are pulling out Walleye, right and left. You don't even need minnows, worms are also working. One fisherman got a 5-pound Walleye off Beach No. 5 on Tuesday.
