Shore anglers are using smaller spinners for planted trout and larger spoons diving plugs for larger rainbows and browns. Fishing has been productive all day but will likely shift to early and late with the overall warming.

Marlette has been steady this season

Marlette Lake

Marlette has been steady this season and should continue to fish well through the close of the season. Trolling large leech patterns behind a sinking line and float tube will catch fish all day at Marlette. During low light periods some good fish have been seen cruising the shoreline actively feeding on midge, mayflies, and damsels. Some good Brook trout should start to show up

Knott Creek has been slow to rebound from the last few years

Knott Creek has been slow to rebound from the last few years of low warm water. Fish have averaged 14” and catch rates have been fair. We could definitely use a nice wet winter at Knott to help improve the general health. Fly fisherman using small dark leech patterns and peacock body nymphs behind sinking lines or deep under indicators are having good days.
