Flows on the South Fork of the Humboldt are very low and fishing is difficult except in the pools. Flows are better below the reservoir and fishing is fair there. As of September 16, the South Fork of the Humboldt was flowing at approximately 1 cfs above the reservoir and 9 cfs below the reservoir.

Pulled away from the fish at 9:30 am. Counts can go 30-50 fish very easily right now with mixed bags daily.

The good news first, cool Fall weather on the Truckee River. Record high’s last week, and now very cool Fall like weather. Barely getting into the 70’s, with lows in the 30’s at night. Bad news. We expect the river to warm quickly this week, especially along sections such as 89-South, down Glenshire Road, and the low flow sections found in Reno. Pretty much the same ole thing on the Truckee River. Good solid fishing in the mornings, slow in the afternoons. Typical late Summer weather and fishing. The water has cooled significantly over the last week. I take a dip every afternoon in the river, and it’s numbing now. That’s at least here in Hirschdale, where there’s a good flow of cold water coming out of Boca. Up

The Truckee River is running low and clear through town and Glenshire. Flows have decreased in the past few weeks, but the flow starts to pick up from Prosser Creek to the stateline border. The mornings are getting colder as we draw nearer to fall.
