The lake is down and fishing is excellent

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The lake is down and fishing is excellent. Walleye and carp fishing has been good and should continue until temps really climb. Bass fishing is really just starting to heat up with some sporadic white bass and wipers reported recently. Carp fishing with corn or dough bait during the warmest part of the day remains best while Walleye continue to show up throughout the day.

Hopper time is almost here!

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
150cfs makes it little high for easy wading on the East Walker, but definitely low enough to get into some fish. Supplemental stocking will continue into the summer as conditions allow. Streamers are fishing well with the higher flows now but we should start to see a shift to some smaller nymphs and dries with the warmer weather. Hopper time is almost here! Spin fishing

Great fishing on the Truckee River

by MATT KOLES
Great fishing on the Truckee River. I don’t say it much, usually we have to put in work on this river, but it’s been really good lately, and easier fishing than normal. Like I say, we always get a 2-3 week stretch when the Truckee really shines. Flows have come down, about 650 cfs, here in Hirschdale, about the same West of Reno. Unless I specifically state the,

The lake level is holding, and the fishing has been good to fair

by DOUG BUSEY
The lake level is holding, and the fishing has been good to fair. I fished last week with Renee (my better half). We trolled all morning long and the only fish we saw were schools of 30-pound carp swimming around the boat. We changed tactics and headed for the north end of the lake and before I could get one bite, Renee had hooked four
