Stocking of several thousand channel catfish and white crappie along with half a million juvenile white bass has occurred in both Little Washoe Lake and Washoe Lake during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons. Expect slow fishing with some areas being more productive than others with low water. Carp can always be a good option in little washoe for anglers when the wind is down.

Fishing for both smallmouth and trout has been good at Wall this spring. Trout fishing along the shallow shoreline and near the inlet has been good with flies. The river is in excellent condition and fishing well. Flows are currently ideal but they can jump pretty quick with any high elevation rain or real heat. Roughly 600cfs in Reno makes for near prefect conditions on the lower river. This isn’t going to last so get out east before we see it heat up. From Reno West, anglers can expect some sporadic little yellow stones

Shore anglers fishing powerbait and worms off the bottom are still finding some fish around deeper water. Heavy kastmaster and spoons are good at getting down to lower holding fish as water temperatures start to rise.

Spooner has been fishing well and should continue to until the shoreline vegetation takes over in early summer. Damsel and leech patterns are working well. Chub populations continue to be an issue with some up to 12 inches eating flies and lures. Try moving to deeper water if you’re getting grabs but not hooking up, or only find that you’re hooking chub. Bait fishing is

Trout fishing has remained good here with the unseasonably cool start to summer. Bass fishing has been fair but should start to improve with 90’s filling the extended forecasts. Trout fishing will taper off but until then, damsel and midge remain some of the better flies. Small spinners are finding both bass and trout and can be lots of fun on the right day this

The lake is down and fishing is excellent. Walleye and carp fishing has been good and should continue until temps really climb. Bass fishing is really just starting to heat up with some sporadic white bass and wipers reported recently. Carp fishing with corn or dough bait during the warmest part of the day remains best while Walleye continue to show up throughout the day.

Flows are running fairly steady between 135-160cfs. The baby crawdads are out and about, use a pheasant tail about a size 14-12 to emulate. Caddis, trico, and baetis are coming off mornings. Streamers of course! Black, cream, olive or purple! 1-1/2” - 4” have been getting whacked. Water temps hovering around 60 degrees.
