 Warm water season has really kicked off with good action for bluegill, bass and catfish at most of the ponds. Catfish are taking stink baits, night crawlers, hotdogs and chicken gizzards. NDOW is reminding anglers that it is illegal to use fish or their parts, other than salmon eggs, as bait in the ponds. Please dispose of unwanted fishing line in the receptacles provided.

The storms that passed through the area last week left the ponds a little murky, but the fishing action remains good. Anglers have done well using PowerBait. The Nevada Department of Wildlife will begin its seasonal catfish plants this week at Floyd Lamb, Lorenzi, Sunset and Veterans Memorial park ponds, as well as Hafen Park pond in Mesquite. Trout action has slowed down with the warming water temps, but bluegill and bass have started to show themselves and are taking mealworms and chunks of night crawlers.
