Nevada Fish Reports

Mid January Truckee River Report

by RENO FLY SHOP
The Truckee River has seen dramatic shifts in flow due to the holiday storms that rolled through the West Coast. Targeting the times with lower flow below 800 cfs at the Reno gauge is your best bet. Fish have been keying largely on attractor patterns with the off-color water conditions following a storm. Bright attractor patterns like the Squirminator are great for grabbing a trout's

Pyramid Lake Fishing Report

by THE FLY SHOP
Fishing conditions:  Great Report: With continued unsettled weather patterns bombing us here in California, that means this lake is fishing great! The dinosaur fish are eating Tui chubs and big midge patterns, basically put it in front of them and hang on! Good flies would be Zach's Pyramid Minnow in Tui chub and white. Balanced Leeches tied in lighter colors, Pyramid Bombers, Moo Midges, etc. This season

Happy New Year!

by PYRAMID FLY CO.
As we ring in the new year and the 2026/2027 fishing season, we want to thank everyone that came out last season! It was a memorable and exciting one with lots of smiles, laughs and of course big trout. The fishing throughout December was good. Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
This goes back a bit—I had to dig up a photo since things have been slow and we haven’t been seeing many anglers coming in for this time of year. These fish are about the size of what’s currently being landed on Lake Mohave and along the Colorado River below Davis Dam. I was fishing the river with a good friend, Dell Olden, on his boat

Flows have some back down from the big monsoon last week

by MATT KOLES
A new year on the Truckee River. Good news, it's raining and snowing again. If this keeps up, we'll have another great water year. Flows have some back down from the big monsoon last week. Around 600 cubes here in Hirschdale and a little higher down on the Nevada side. Great Winter flows. Somewhat mild out and should stay that way though the weekend. Good time to

Had to share a trout stocking photo—and yes, that’s me standing next to the truck as it delivers a beautiful plant of rainbow trout. The Willow Beach Hatchery, a federal facility, brought us these fish, and their crew does a great job raising and transporting trout for our anglers to enjoy. Our stocking sites include Rotary Park, Community Park, and Davis Camp. Due to low water

The lake has yet to really switch on as we’ve seen a few good days here and there

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The lake has yet to really switch on as we’ve seen a few good days here and there, but nothing consistent. With the funky start to the winter, the standard beaches and methods to fish them for this time of year have kind of gone out the window. If you’re heading out here, it may be a good time to explore some of the lesser-known

Truckee River Fishing Report

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The fishing on the Truckee over the last week has been pretty slow. We speculate that this is because of the cold days we’ve been having lately. The water is also very clear, and this doesn’t typically help the angler much either as it makes the fish even more wary and more likely to key in on the small bugs.    With this said, focus on fishing

It's Trout Season!

by RUSTY
We have some exciting river news to share! Along the shores of the Colorado River, below the Davis Dam, it's trout season. We're receiving rainbow trout from the Willow Beach Hatchery, and this crew knows how to raise some great fish. Local angler Jerry Ward came in with a limit of rainbows he landed at Community Park. He was fishing from shore using a trout
