Our river fishing is picking up with more stripers and a few Smallmouth Bass. That is here below the Davis Dam along the shores of the Colorado River. Our local anglers and visiting anglers are having some success up and down the river. The casino area has been known to produce some of our larger stripers along with the shoreline at community park. Small and largemouth bass fishing continued to improve

The lake held at 90 percent of capacity with water temperatures the mid-sixties. Small and largemouth bass fishing continued to improve, and the bite could really take off soon. Bass are spawning, and anglers used Senkos, Texas rigs, and jigs to fool fish. Small shad-colored swimbaits and jerkbaits worked for bites in the mornings. The Truckee River has come down in flow in the last few days. We had a cold storm blow through town this past week and really cooled everything off. As a result, runoff slowed and river flows dropped to under 800cfs. Clarity has improved considerably following the drop in flow throughout the Nevada side.
