Las Vegas Urban Ponds Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Bluegill and green sunfish have been the most active this past week at city ponds. They are taking mealworms, night crawlers, and occasionally, small lures or flies.  Catfish are eating night crawlers, hotdogs, or chicken gizzards -- the smellier the better. Anglers have had success catching bass at Floyd Lamb using dropshots and spinnerbaits. Be sure to put unwanted fishing line is the recycle bins

Striped bass action is picking up all over the lake. From Temple Bar to Callville Bay, anglers are catching striped bass between 2 and 5 pounds. Keep an eye out for striper boils picking up within the next couple of weeks. Try netting shad for live bait or use a shad jerkbait as an alternative. Anglers are reporting Kingman Wash as a hot spot if you

Great Flow and Good Water Temps on The Truckee

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
The Truckee River currently has great flows with good water temperatures. Fish are holding in the faster water and deeper pools. The flows increase significantly towards state line Nevada so anything lower river is big water. In the evening, anglers have been seeing good dry fly activity. Some flies to try in the evening are multiple species of caddis, pale morning duns, yellow stones, midges,

Good Solid Fishing on The Truckee

by MATT KOLES
Really good solid fishing on the Truckee River. Flows are down to a prefect 675 cfs in the Hirsch. Trout’n is good. Hasn’t gotten that hot yet either. Nice and cool out there in the mornings. Like I always say this time of year when trouts are in the fast water. You have to get in there and get ‘em. If you can’t wade well and move

by MIKE NIELSEN
Ful moon of Mackinaw. We crushed couple dozen after a dreadful slow first hour!

Ranch is Fishing Well

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
The Ranch is still fishing well, lots of nice fish in the 14 to 20 inch range being caught down there lately. It’s still been pretty busy with bookings but of course not near as busy as the public sections of the river. They’re still eating some stonefly nymphs down there and the dry/dropper action has also been pretty good still. Like the Cali side

Topaz Lake Fishing Report

by DOUG BUSEY
The lake level is going down and the fishing has been good one day and slow the next. Most anglers have reported 12 to 15 inch rainbows from shore. If you decide to do some trolling, I would recommend early and deep. The Douglas County Camp area is now open to the public. here you can have a campfire. If you camp in the day use

Plenty of Fish in The River

by DOUG BUSEY
There are plenty of fish in the river. Fishing has been up and down. I talked with one angler that could see the fish but could not commit them to bite. I gave him a Naw tip and will see if it helped in the next report.

Tahoe Topliners Fishing Report

by MIKE NIELSEN
Yesterday the fish social distanced for me. We got Brown only to have one of three decked. Then the lakers did the same not nearly the amount of bites and lots of loss.  Crazy to water Temps go from 64 down to 56 degrees but 3 days of big wind / waves seemed to stir things pretty good. See what today has on tap!

Kirch WMA Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
With summer temperatures, Haymeadow and Cold Springs offer anglers the chance to land bass and crappie. Crappie are hitting on green and red jigs while bass are taking plastics and crankbaits. Aquatic plants are thickening up along the shores. Using weedless hooks, or putting a boat or tube on the water, will help anglers fish in weedy conditions.

Crappie & Bass Are The Most Active Right Now

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Crappie and bass are still the most active fish right now. Crappie and bass are taking an assortment of spoons and jigs. Fly-anglers have been doing well using dragonfly nymphs and olive Woolly Buggers. Trout are biting around sunrise and where the stream feeds into the reservoir.  Aquatic vegetation can be a problem along some shorelines, limiting access throughout the summer. State Parks are still

Echo Canyon Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers are catching lots of bass and crappie, though they are on the small side. Even small bass are hitting craw plastics despite the bait’s size. Crappie are hitting on marabou jigs and tubes. Rainbow trout fishing is slow. Vegetation is increasing along the shore and reaches out a couple feet in some areas. Go early to beat the heat. State Parks are still only

Striped Bass Action Has Picked Up

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Striped bass action is picking up along the Colorado River. Fish between 3 and 12 pounds have been reported through Casino Row and just south of Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area. Glide baits and anchovies are the baits of choice. A few anglers are still catching rainbow trout on night crawlers. Whether fishing from boat or shore, try getting out in the

Best Striper Has Been Above Davis Dam

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The heat has reduced angler numbers on Lake Mohave. Anglers are reporting that smallmouth are hitting soft plastics on Ned rigs and largemouth bass showing preference for pencil poppers. The best striper action is being reported just above Davis Dam. Anglers are reporting that catfish are taking anchovies fished from shore at the south end of the lake near Katherine Landing.

Anglers Catching A Variety of Sunfish

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers are catching a variety of sunfish across the urban ponds. At Sunset and Floyd Lamb Park green sunfish are taking mealworms, night crawler pieces, and micro lures. Anglers are catching catfish on marshmallows, corn, and catfish dip. The marshmallows will entice the cats above the weed growth on cooler, cloudy mornings. All city ponds have a 3-fish limit regardless of species. Nets are not

Striper Boils Should Be Increasing This Month

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Anglers have seen a few striper boils in the Boulder Basin. They should increase in frequency this month. Striper boils provide great action when using topwater baits or jerkbaits. Anglers fishing Temple Bar and the Overton Arm are finding success with soft swimbaits fished from shore or boat. Bluegill are biting on night crawlers in Government Wash. The largest catfish catches are being reported in

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
We did have a bit of a slow spell but the striper bite is picking up again. Lake Mohave striper bite is still a bit hit or miss and you will have to move around to find that fishing hole. The stripers have been near the dam and the Nevada side has produced some nice fish. I have been getting reports that trolling across the

You can slide in close to mountains stay out if waves but you eat the wind anyway, today was a gentle 15 -20 evil East that just makes 3-4 foot uneven random waves and chop.
