Nevada Fish Reports

Smallmouth and largemouth bass are hitting swimbaits in variations of silver and white in the coves west of Callville Bay. The Boulder Island and Las Vegas Bay areas are producing stripers but mostly in the 1- to 2-pound range.  Catfish are hitting on anchovies by the Hemenway fishing pier. Many are around 3 pounds.

The striper bite is doing ok with a few of the larger stripers being landed with the use of your favorite hard bait. Anchovies are of course one of the preferred baits for anglers targeting stripers.  Our local angler or now visiting angler Josh advocate as he is a pitcher for the Texas Rangers was visiting and went fishing as a family outing. Same old same old on the Truckee River.  Nothing to really change things. Weather and flows have been stagnant for the last month. We need some rain/snow. Not that the fishing is poor, just be nice to have some different kind of weather. We’re catching fish, but mainly on the nymphs. Not a lot of streamer action on the lower river.
