Lake Mohave Fishing Report

by RUSTY
While up on Lake Mohave, your chances for stripers are better near the dam and above the power lines. The coves on the Arizona side have been a bit better  — even the Arizona side telephone cove was dong OK. Our federal Willow Beach hatchery raises these endangered species. Anyway. the lake has to be lowered  to accomplish this task. The water level should be up

Crazy September Weather

by MATT KOLES
Had one of those, didn’t think I could make it to the take out days this weekend because of the heat days. Waking up today with a few inches of snow this morning in the Hirsch. Crazy September weather. Mainly, I’ve been floating down on the Nevada side. Not too good streamer fishing with the heat. Good nymphing though. Mainly tight line nymphing, And yes, we

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
The ranch fished excellent this week with several anglers reporting 20+ fish days down there. There has been a little bit of streamer action but most of the fish we heard about were caught with dark lords, San Juan worms and rubberlegs. We’re starting to get booked up a bit in advance down there so if you want to reserve some time be sure to

Pyramid Lake Update

by DOUG BUSEY
I do not know the fishing conditions, which is due to the lake has been closed for three months. But on October 1st, the lake will open for the fall/winter season. I would recommend for those Topaz anglers like myself. Strip your line and get a little bigger test on your real. Last year we averaged 3 to 7 lb fish on this lake, with

Gilligan's Guide Service Truckee River Report

by MATT KOLES
Welp, fall is here on the Truckee River. Been the coolest September since ’04? That year had about 5 feet of snow in Reno. Truckee got buried. Kind of a Rockies type September in Tahoe. So, of course the fishing be good when the weather cooperates, at least steamer fishing wise. Barometer pressure, mainly low, and cloud cover make a huge difference. Of course, nymphing, you can

Ranch is Fishing Pretty Well

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
The ranch is still fishing pretty well, we’ve had mostly good reports from down there. They’re still eating some rubber legs, San Juan worms, squirmy wormy’s, dark lords and soft hackles. As the flows drop over the next few weeks the fishing down there should just keep getting better. There are some really good fish hanging out on the ranch as well, some well over 20”.
