Fishermen are Finding Success

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Recent storm activity flooded the access road into Spring Valley State Park, resulting a brief closure. The road is now open, and anglers have been venturing onto the ice.  The water is murky, but some fishermen are finding success using night crawlers and PowerBait.  The best ice conditions can be found on the north side of the lake where it is thickest.  The Nevada Department

The North End of Big Bend has Been Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The north end of Big Bend has been good for stripers and trout hiding in deep coves.  One lucky angler reportedly reeled in a 13-pound striper using anchovies.  Fishing off the bottom has proven effective whether from a boat or the shoreline.  Stocked rainbow trout have been seen along casino row where they are biting on night crawlers and rainbow PowerBait.

Anglers are Catching Stripers

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
According to reports, anglers are catching stripers weighing in at 1 to 3 pounds from the fishing pier at Willow Beach.  The fish are taking anchovies.  The story is much the same at the south end of the reservoir, where anglers are catching similar-sized stripers while fishing off the bottom at Telephone Cove. In between, largemouth and smallmouth bass are hitting at the south end

This January has Fished Well!

by PYRAMID LAKE GUIDES
This January has fished well! In January 2018 we saw mild weather with warm temps making the fishing slow. January 2017 we had flooding resulting in lake closure for 6 weeks. This year the storms have been consistent making for decent fishing. Similar to December daily numbers are not at their highest but quality by means of size make up for it; big fish are

Really Good Solid Fishing for January.

by MATT KOLES
Good solid week on the Truckee River. Temps were much warmer and trouts seemed to respond to the warmer water temps.  Still cold in the mornings, expect that for January, but things have warmed up into the 50’s in Reno, 40’s in Truckee, most afternoons.  Those warm afternoons get the fish moving. We will have rain and snow this week. Still doing a lot of streamer fishing

Topaz Lake Report and Week 1 Derby Results

by DOUG BUSEY
Hello fellow anglers, Fishing at Topaz Lake is off to a good start for 2019. The weather cooperated, with the only drawback was that the morning temperature on January 1st was 9 degrees at 6:30 am. But warmed up to a nice 38 for a high.  There were many boats on the lake and most drove respectful of fellow trollers.  You can tell some were

Eagle Valley Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Ice along the north side of the lake has finally thickened up enough for angler access in some areas. Nevertheless, use extreme caution.  Along the dam and in front of the fishing dock, the ice is still too thin to walk on.  Holes can be drilled through the ice along the fishing pier.  Angers can remain on the structure while fishing.  A good bait option
