Projected to be Good

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
South Fork is 90% covered with unsafe ice. There is some open water in the flats at the south end of the lake, though it is shallow there and fishing is difficult. As of Wednesday, there wasn’t enough open water along the shoreline for fishing, but with the weather predicted for the weekend, that is going to change any day now. Once there is enough

Unsafe Ice

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
No recent report, but like other lakes in the area expect unsafe ice.

100% Ice Covered

Lots of snow and the lake is 100% ice covered. You can’t drive to the lake, but you can walk down from the main road. However, no word on the thickness, so drill a test hole close to shore before venturing upon it. No report on how the fishing is here.

Unsafe Ice?

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
No recent report, but like other lakes in the area expect unsafe ice. The access road to the lake is very difficult and 4WD only.

Water is Murky

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Heavy runoff has made fishing problematic this past week. The water is murky. Ice conditions are good over most of the reservoir, but the south side is holding up a little better than the north side. Action for rainbow trout has been hit-and-miss. One angler limited out on rainbow trout while using rainbow PowerBait while other anglers found their luck a little on the tough

Spilling Now

The reservoir has patchy ice conditions with some open water allowing moderate fishing opportunities along the shoreline. Early season runoff has filled the reservoir and water is going through the spillway.

Morning Hours are Best

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Fishing reports are hit and miss. Trout imitations and similar swimbaits are generally productive for striped bass. The early morning hours have been good for stripers at the north end of Mohave where angers have reeled in fish tipping the scales at five to 10 pounds. The winds have been picking up throughout the day, so get out early for the best success.

Arizona Side is Hot

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Rainbow trout plants on the Arizona side of the river have made it quite the fishing spot. Rotary Park has been a hot spot recently with anglers catching limits of trout. One angler reeled in a three-pound fish while using night crawlers for bait. Striped bass can generally be found pursuing the trout.
