Water levels reached normal pool on 3/14/25

For the first time in nearly 6 years, Cave Lake is at capacity and spilling. Water levels reached normal pool on 3/14/25. With recent storms, shoreline access will be muddy until the snow melts and everything begins to dry out. Anglers can expect to catch hatchery-reared rainbow trout stocked into Cave Creek in June 2024 that ended up in Cave Lake as the water levels

It’s been an interesting few weeks since our last report

It’s been an interesting few weeks since our last report. We hit a high of 76° mid last week followed by a cold front that dropped snow on the valley floor. This has water temps going up and down which can impact the consistency of fishing. We are starting to see some signs of spawning behavior (I.e. shallow cruising fish, trout with fungus along their bodies)

The ranch has also been fishing very well

The ranch has also been fishing very well with most of the reports coming in from happy anglers. The streamer action did very well the last couple days with dead drift crayfish being the stand-out streamer. Nymphing has been good as well with poxyback stones, rainbow warriors, zebra midges and copper johns.
