Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID
The ranch is fishing very well lately with most anglers reporting good numbers of fish with some 18 to 22 inchers thrown into the mix. Streamers seem to be the best bet down here and there’s been some nice fish caught on nymphs as well. The same patterns that have been working on the California side of the river are good to use on the

Truckee River Update

by MATT KOLES
Cold nights, mild days on the Truckee River. Not a lot of change since last report. Flows and fishing and weather remains basically the same. We have pushed some big fish around on streamers lately. That time of year. Seems like the fishing has been better and trouts willing to chase after the water warms a little bit. We haven’t really had any weather, so it’s not

Lake Mead Preparation

by JASON HALEY
I just spent my first day on Lake Mead in preparation for the 35th Annual WON Bass U.S. Open. Wow! This place is amazing. It's hard to focus due to the spectacular scenery and wildlife. The water is clear, with visibility to nearly 30 feet. Schools of Striped Bass are chasing shad all over the lake. I caught two on a top water plug by

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID
The ranch is fishing very well lately with most anglers reporting good numbers of fish with some 18 to 24 inchers thrown into the mix. Streamers seem to be the best bet down here as well though we did have one angler who caught a couple fish running a dry/dropper rig. The ranch is getting booked up a couple weekends in advance lately so if

Eagle Valley Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The rainbow action has been very good this past week, with most anglers leaving with their limits. Bait fishers have been doing well using the usual orange or green Powerbait, but pink became the color of choice for many of the anglers who acquired those limits. Rooster tail and Mepps lures were also working well for boaters and float tubers.

Echo Canyon Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The fishing action has been quiet this past week with only a few anglers trying their luck. The water levels remain low, but are starting to rise, as the aquatic vegetation has been dying off. The rainbows have been taking pink powerbait to add to the usual orange or green powerbait and power eggs.

Lake Mohave Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Shore fishing is slow on the north end out of Willow Beach. Anglers are having trouble getting out past the weeds near the fishing pier. Those anglers that are getting out on the water are having good success with striped bass. Trout are still be stocked south of the Willow Marina. Trout fishing is good with the cooler waters.

Lake Mead Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Cooler weather is here, with a few warm days mixed in. Those warm days will be great to go out for black bass and crappie in the Overton Arm. Black Bass has started to slow, but anglers have had some success at sunrise and sunset using drop shots near underwater cliffs. Near the Boulder Islands, black bass are biting on a variety of popper lures.

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID
The ranch has been fishing very well lately, the streamer action seems to be the best with nymphing a close second. Most of the patterns listed above have also been working on the ranch. The Sceirine is getting booked up a bit in advance lately so if you want reservations plan ahead as best you can.

Truckee River is Solid

by MATT KOLES
Cold nights, mild days. Should cool more this week with high’s only in the 50’s. Nights will be in the upper teens. So, the best fishing should be mid-day at least on the Cali side. The Nevada side stays warmer, but both sides have been fishing well, all around, any time. Flows are still above average for October and should remain good into winter. 388 cfs

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID

Topaz Lake Fish Report

by DOUG BUSEY
I fished last week with Tom Blotter for the last time of the season. On October first, Topaz Lake will close to fishing until January 1,2018. Fishing was not on fire , but it was a good day of fishing. We trolled Rapalas on the south end and caught 23 rainbows with a few small brown trout mixed in there.  Saturday will be the last

Eagle Valley Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Rainbow trout have been hitting well this past week on a variety of flies and lures. Bait fishers have found good action with night crawlers or PowerBait in green or orange. Crappies continue to take small jigs fished below bobbers near the boat dock. The water level has been rising due to recent rains, and cooler temperatures are knocking the weeds back.

Echo Canyon Reservoir Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Only a few anglers were seen around the reservoir this past week, but those who ventured out found much improved fishing for rainbow trout. Cooling water temperatures also have begun to kill off the aquatic vegetation and open up the shoreline to fishing. Water levels are on the rise.
