Excellent Mackinaw Fishing! We have been getting limits of Mackinaw Lake Trout all week , from 1 to 15 pounds. Depths have ranged from 60 , 100, 150, 200, and 250 feet depending on the areas fished on the lake . No Wind, Great Action

Team Schear from Texas on the annual trout assault! No wind, great action. Lost probably 7 or 8 fish. Kept 5 Rainbows, and 6 macs and let go another handful of fish go! Action came between 6:45 and 8:45 am! Had cancellation for tomorrow.... who wants in?

Well the day started lil odd. We got Glenn his Brown Trout but as I was removing a very very well hooked bait I nearly hooked myself and the fish flopped over side into the net then out of the net. With current annual snowpack at 168%, the Carson drainage is likely to remain high with melt well into June. High water tactics will be the key to success over the next several months. Excellent Fishing for Lake Trout

Anglers are reporting excellent fishing for Lake Trout in the 80-250 foot range on days when the water is calm. Toplining for large rainbow and brown trout has also been productive in shallower water (less than 50 feet in depth). Targeting the shallow bays seems to be the most productive for rainbows and browns. The Cave Rock boat ramp is open and clear. Shore fishing

Topaz is picking up with recent stocking, shore anglers with powerbait and boaters trolling flash rigs are doing the best. Most trout are around 12 inches with a few up to 18 reported. At the April Trout Derby, the top three finishers all landed fish over nine pounds.

Handful of Macs in 30 Minutes

Nothing to special today. Had one guy take the boat. Got a brown early then spent 3 hours hunting big fish. Finally dropped into schools for handful of Mack’s for the angler and I in about 30 minutes. See what tomorrow brings!
