Excellent Fishing at Walker River, East Fork

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Flows have been a little high at roughly 250cfs for quite a while, but fishing has remained excellent. Stocking has been strong from spring through summer so far and should continue as temperatures allow. Spin fisherman using bright spinners and small spoons are finding fish just about everywhere. Fly fisherman with larger streamers in the deeper runs have been just as effective as the spinners.

Angler Report: Lahontan Reservoir

by FISH REPORTS STAFF
Sam checked in with us from a recent trip to Lahontan Reservoir. Here is his report: "Caught a 17.5-inch wiper on a roostertail near the shore between the launch ramp and the dam. Was disappointed not to catch any white bass or get troll bit. The water was 68 degrees with light NE conditions." Thanks for sharing, Sam!

Harmful Algae Bloom Watch

by NEVADA STATE PARKS
Lahontan Reservoir, located in Lahontan State Recreation Area, has been placed under a HAB Watch Advisory due to an active Harmful Algae Bloom. A recent water test produced low algal toxin concentrations, and has been backed up by visual indicators and satellite imagery. These toxic algae can cause serious health issues for humans and animals. If you see water that looks discolored or smells bad, stay away.

Lots of good fish up to around 22” or so

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
The ranch is fishing very similar to the Rosachi section, lots of good fish up to around 22” or so, mostly on streamers and nymphs. As with the Rosachi the higher flows make it necessary to increase your weight and lengthen your indicators. I would expect the flows on the EW not to come down too much now that the weather is getting warmer but
