It has been a good bite here as the winter storms have stirred up the giant cutthroat to move into the beaches to feed. Popcorn beetles, balanced leeches, midges, and black buggers have been the flies of choice lately. We are headed into spring and the temps are ideal for fishing Pyramid.  We’ve seen some quality fish lately!

Still raining and snowing. Mostly rain here last week. Higher water on the Truckee river is a great time to get out.  Fish the edges of the channel and still look for BWOs on cloudy days.  

A nice fish caught by Brendan LaFountain on February 23. We were fishing with Hans Moxley of Hooked Up Guide Service (530) 546-2221 out of Carnelian Bay on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Hans worked hard and put us on limits for 4 fisherman before noon despite the cold weather. Can’t wait to go again! Report sent in by Tim Murphy.

We have been getting a lot of reports of fishermen bypassing the Creel Station. Please help us to monitor the fishery by reporting all fishing activity, either in person or by voluntary creel forms.

Snowing again. Ha ha ha. All you can do is just laugh and be thankful for all the precip at this point. Big rain and snows this week again. If you have a second home up here, best make sure you get your roofs cleared, mainly the ice damns, and clear out your propane tank. Big wet snows on top of all this snow is a recipe

What a great day to be fishing. Had a couple first timers on and the fish wanted to show them a fun time!

We had a great day out on Pyramid with the crew from Tahoe Resources.  Most of the group came in from Canada and had their first experience with fly fishing.  We had a few 10 pounders to the net!
