The lake level is starting to drop. Some anglers have been productive fishing early and deep on the south end. Rapala's have been most productive. Lake Tahoe has been doing well for Mackinaws. I recommend you get out early to take advantage of the calm waters. Best areas have been Cal/Neva point to Dollar point. Hobart Fish Report

It is a GOOD season so far, like it was last year! NDOW was nice enough to throw some more tiger trout in last week. The southern entrance had a snow drift across it a few weeks ago, and the rains melted it away. Damsels, PT's zebra midges, red or black, mosquito's, black ants. Flows in Mogul are about 364 – 313 cfs average. Fishing pretty well on the California side Honestly lots of bugs on the river. You can't go wrong. Caddis, PMD, midges, stoneflies, craws, drakes. . Fishing has been great when the wind is not blowing you off the lake. Best areas have been Cal/ Neva and the north shore. Flashers and a live minnow have been most productive in 130 to 220 feet of water. Average mackinaw has been 2-5 pounds with a few in the 8-10 pound class. A fellow angler fished the lake last week and caught 2 rainbows ranging from 15-17 inches long. He was using Rapalas in the middle of the lake.
