Cool weather helping Truckee

River is skinny through the general regulation section. Through Truckee the river is running at 20 cfs. There’s a bit of spring run-off and it won’t last long. Pyramid cutthroat spawn over

Action has slowed a bit. Five fish weighing between 10 and 15 pounds were weighed in. Four came from boats in the north. One came from the shore at the South Nets. Spawn is over. Bite will continue to slow. Crosby's Lodge (775) 476-0400

River is very low and the fish that are in there are stuck in holes. The special regulation section is fishing well. There are good hatches supporting quality fishing, nothing great.

Tahoe producing browns, macks

Pyramid spawn causes slower bite

Biggest was a 16.15 cutt caught from a boat near Pelican by Jim Green. Five other 10 pound plus cutts were caught from the shore during the past week. Nets is the best spot while trout are spawning. Crosby's Lodge (775) 476-0400

Topaz smallmouth on the charge

Smallmouth bass bite is very good. A good number of 3 to 4 pounders are being caught-and-released. Action is on the southeast side of the lake. Truckee trout worth chasing

River is low along the Glenshire stretch. Flow is at 490 cfs past Boca. River will be a little off-color for the next few days but it shouldn't hurt fishing. Fishing has been quite good and that should resume. Blue wing olives and some stonefly action is taking place. There were some March browns but snow will halt that. Shore anglers score big at Pyramid

Fishing has been fair. Shore fishing has been good at Wino, North Nets and Pelican. Trolling is equally good in the north and south. Time is now for Tahoe browns

Fishing for brown trout in the shallows has been productive. Guide Mike Nielsen had 11 browns on two trips Tuesday. Most trips get 3 to 8 browns weighing between 2 and 4 pounds. Cutts starting to spawn at Pyramid

Cutts are moving in to spawn and bite is just fair. Biggest fish of the week was by Kris Nickelson of Sparks who caught a 20.1 pounder from the shore on a fly near the nets. Jeff Morris caught an 18 pounder with a midge, also from the nets. Crosby's Lodge (775) 476-0400
