The Carson is down to typical winter levels and fishing has been slow. Small spinners seem to be the best bet for the remining planters around broken dam. Ice has been on and off the pond this winter and fishing should be good for a few holdover trout with the nice weather forecasted. Salmon eggs or small worms under a bobber and power worms or power bait off the bottom is always effective at Baily. Fly fishing with small nymphs should be effective when there are no fish on the surface.

Fishing has been good to fair at Topaz as we start to stock the lake for the season. Anglers from shore are using powerbait and crawlers off the bottom.

Fishing has been slow at Mitch Pond. It should pickup again with some warmer weather. Look for stocking to pickup again in late March-April when temperatures allow.

For now, fishing remains fair at Seeman. Bait under a bobber is about as good as it gets. Fishing will improve considerably with spring sticking.

No recent reports from Spooner Lake due to limited/no access during the winter months. Fishing should be great when there is access again this spring.

Hinkson Slough is back! – After two years of repairs and rehabilitation, Hinkson Slough is healthy and fishing very well.  The rainbow trout that were stocked over the fall and winter are incredibly healthy and ranged in size from twelve to nineteen inches. Spin fisherman using small spinners did very well in the late morning through the afternoon from both shore and boats. Fly fisherman

Fishing will pick up as we start to warm up this spring. The warm water species here are pretty lethargic during the coldest months of the season. Walleye fishing should pick up in late March.

Bass fishing has been fair this winter on the cooling ponds. Most Bass are ranging 6-10 inches but a few larger fish a showing up on occasion near the warm water outflow.

North Pond is unable to be stocked due to low water levels. All stocking will be forwarded to Hinkson until conditions improve.

Stocking – Fish in the Humboldt River are self-sustaining and stocking is not necessary. Regulations – Limit is 5 trout and 15 warmwater game fish of which not more than 5 may be largemouth bass and 5 may be walleye. For the Humboldt River from Stahl Diversion Dam (near Golconda) to the downstream border of Humboldt County, live baitfish and aquatic bait from the Humboldt

Bilk is likely covered with ice at the moment but should pick up when spring temps allow us to stock trout there again.

Overall, fishing at Chimney Reservoir has been slow. Walleye and catfish fishing should pick up as we move into Spring.

Fishing has been fair on Kinney pond. Fishing should pick up as stocking resumes with the warmer weather. The nice weather should really open up the pond this next week. Bait fisherman using crawlers and powerbait on the bottom should find some of the stocked trout. Fly fisherman slowly retrieving small woolly buggers should catch some of the cold water species during the warmest part

Fishing has been slow at Rye patch. However, the abundant water over the last two years has helped significantly improve the overall health of this fishery. Fishing will pickup as we warm up again this spring.

Fishing has been slow at liberty the cold limits access during the coldest months. Look for trout fishing to pickup this spring when trout stocking begins again.

After the last storm pushed through, we had a few days of sunny weather and fair fishing conditions as the flows dropped and the water cleared up a bit.
