The Marina has been fishing fair this winter

The Marina has been fishing fair this winter. Bait fishing with worms off the bottom will find trout and bass. Power bait and other dough baits will also produce fish just off the ledge near the fishing dock. Spin fisherman willing to put in the time are doing well working jigs and small spinners. Stocking will pickup in late March-early April.

Ice has been on and off the pond this winter and fishing should be good for a few holdover trout with the nice weather forecasted. Salmon eggs or small worms under a bobber and power worms or power bait off the bottom is always effective at Baily. Fly fishing with small nymphs should be effective when there are no fish on the surface.

Fishing has been slow at Mitch Pond. It should pickup again with some warmer weather. Look for stocking to pickup again in late March-April when temperatures allow.

Fishing will pick up as we start to warm up this spring. The warm water species here are pretty lethargic during the coldest months of the season. Walleye fishing should pick up in late March.

Regulations – Limit is 5 trout and 15 warmwater game fish of which not more than 5 may be largemouth bass and 5 may be walleye. Bait fisherman using crawlers and powerbait on the bottom should find some of the stocked trout. Fly fisherman slowly retrieving small woolly buggers should catch some of the cold water species during the warmest part
