On 8/29/2023 the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex completed stocking 100,000 Pilot Peak strain Lahontan cutthroat trout into Lake Tahoe for the 2023 season. A total of 25% of the trout stocked this year were tagged with a T-bar anchor tag that has a unique ID and phone number on it. Anglers are encouraged to report their catch and help our biologists evaluate the success

The Truckee River is currently flowing around 330 cfs at the USGS gauge near downtown Reno. While flow has dropped here in town over the last few weeks, 330 cfs is a great flow to see in October.
