South Fork Reservoir Fishing Report

South Fork Reservoir

The dock is out of the water and the main boat ramp is closed for the season. Those with small craft may launch at the gravel boat ramp at the north end of Jet Ski Beach between campsites 49 and 50. As of November 18, Cleve Creek was flowing at a low 3.54 cfs

Flows are low and there is snow and ice along the stream bank. As of November 18, Cleve Creek was flowing at a low 3.54 cfs which is about half of normal.

Comins Lake Fishing Report

At last report approximately 40% of Comins Lake was covered with a thin sheet of ice. There are some areas of the north lake shoreline that have ice built up along it due to dense vegetation mats. With the warmer weather forecast for the upcoming week, there should continue to be open water for fishing. Anglers can still launch a boat from the boat launch

Last week the reservoir was 80% covered in a thin sheet of ice. At last report there was some open water along the north side of the old dam and along the northwestern shoreline that should be productive for anglers if it is still open. Wildhorse Reservoir almost completely covered in ice today

Soft water fishing is over for the season at Wildhorse Reservoir as it was almost completely covered in ice today. There was a bit of open water by the dam and a small bit at the Hendricks Arm but with the cold temps it will freeze completely very soon. South Fork on the other hand is almost completely ice free with a bit of ice

A quick update on Wildhorse Reservoir. Where there was open water the fish were hitting on green beadhead crystal buggers and leeches on almost every cast. However, as of this morning the lake was 30-40% ice covered, mostly at the south end. There is open water from the island off of the state park boat ramp to the dam. Get out and fish this lake

Water levels are coming up nicely this fall. Expect ice to be forming and this small reservoir may soon be ice covered. If there is open water, anglers can expect to catch 8-to-10-inch Rainbow Trout and there is the potential to catch similar sized Tiger Trout. Expect bass fishing to be poor.

With recent snowstorms and colder daytime temperatures, approximately 40% of Comins Lake is covered with a thin sheet of ice. Anglers can still launch a boat from the boat launch however, the narrows of Comins Lake is iced up and anglers should not try to break ice to access the south lake.
