Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
Our local angler, Steve Beasley, landed a nice largemouth bass while fishing from his boat. He was using a jig that usually produces a striper or two. We have a great largemouth and smallmouth bass population up on Lake Mohave. These fish are considered sport fish, and most anglers practice catch-and-release with them. Anglers go as far as using live wells to keep their fish healthy

We have our local angler, Mike Merritt, with a nice mixed bag of fish! He was targeting stripers using anchovies and ended up landing some beautiful catfish as well. We do have channel catfish in the river, and it's always nice to see a few being caught. There are plenty of folks who enjoy these fish for the table. While we're on the subject of catfish, have

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

Here are a couple of our younger anglers with a super nice largemouth bass! This fish was landed while fishing from shore. Nick Navarrette and Mason Lucchino caught this beautiful bass using a spinnerbait. The fish weighed an impressive 6.20 pounds and measured 24½ inches long. It was a little disappointing that they didn't know to release it, but I took the opportunity to explain that

The fishing has been slow and most of the stripers caught have been on the smaller size

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
The fishing has been slow and most of the stripers caught have been on the smaller size. Anglers may still be able to get lucky catching bigger stripers, and it’s reported that using trout imitation baits can help. The rainbow trout are still going strong for those fishing on or shortly after each Thursday that they are stocked. Anglers are using worms, PowerBait, and spinners

The fishing has slowed down on the lake

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
The fishing has slowed down on the lake. The anglers that are having the most success are going out early in the morning before sunrise to fish topwater for largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass. Many smaller stripers in the 1- to 2-pound range are being caught. Trolling using a buck-tailed jig or swimbaits in a trout pattern has also been good to anglers looking for

Anglers have reported success catching largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass on the lake

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
Anglers have reported success catching largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass on the lake. To maximize your chance of success at catching some of these fish, try fishing off the topwater as early in the day as you can, or later at night. Anglers have reported success using reaction baits, crank baits, and flukes in a shad pattern. For any fishing done later in the middle

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

This is a great example of a successful catch-and-release fishing experience! Local angler Matt Felder was fishing from shore when he landed an impressive 43-inch striped bass. He had been targeting smaller stripers with anchovies and was catching fish in the 1- to 3-pound range. As I've mentioned before, fishing with anchovies usually produces the smaller stripers, which make excellent table fare. Every now and then,

I had to dig this one up since the fishing has slowed down a bit. This was on the billboard at the end of town by the Laughlin Bridge. It's me holding a fish with Allen Cole, who was inducted into the Fishing Hall of Fame for his AC Plug and his outstanding fishing accomplishments. This is one of the larger stripers he landed, weighing

Trolling is the most productive

Report courtesy of Rusty at Riviera Marina. Local angler Mike M. recently landed a limit of striped bass. Fishing from an island and using anchovies as bait, he put together an impressive stringer of fish. These smaller-sized stripers are easy to clean and make excellent fish tacos, along with plenty of other great meals. There are many productive spots for striper fishing below Davis Dam on

22-Pound Striper

by RUSTY
Well, it's been a little slow lately when it comes to anglers bringing in photos of their catches, so I decided to use an older picture of the twins with their impressive 22-pound striper. Mike and Mitch Jones were fishing the river when they landed this trophy-sized fish. This time of year, the striper bite can slow down a bit, and anglers have to work a

2.6-pound Bluegill

by RUSTY
Now that's a nice panfish! This beauty was brought in by local angler Patrick Pauli. I'm confident it's a bluegill, although it looks similar to the redear sunfish we see in our waters. Patrick was using a small spinner when he landed this impressive 2.6-pound bluegill, measuring 14 5/8 inches in length. It could even be a Nevada state record! He caught it in the Back

Great Fishing Along The Colorado River

by RUSTY
We’re fortunate to have a great fishery here along the shores of the Colorado River. Anglers are enjoying excellent success both from shore and by boat, especially when targeting striped bass. While smallmouth bass can also be found in the area, striped bass continue to dominate the local fishery. Rainbow trout are still being caught, but anglers will need to locate the right hole or back

The striper fishing has been hot!

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
The striper fishing at Willow Beach has been hot this month. Anglers are catching stripers using swim baits, and trout imitation baits have seen a lot of success. The Willow Beach Fish Hatchery has been putting out lots of rainbow trout too (1,000 stocked at the Willow Beach Fishing Pier on May 14), and they can be caught using PowerBait or small inline spinners. Special

Nice bass being caught!

by ARIZONA GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT
Nice sized largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass have been being caught at Lake Mohave this time of year. Anglers have been reported catching these fish using anchovies and lures such as Bucktail Jigs while trolling, or using soft plastics in the shape of worms or crayfish such as the Z-man TubeZ. Special Regulations: The limit is 5 trout, there is no longer a limit for
