Now that's a nice panfish! This beauty was brought in by local angler Patrick Pauli. I'm confident it's a bluegill, although it looks similar to the redear sunfish we see in our waters. A bit more river news: the Colorado River is producing striped bass up and down the system right now. It seems like the fish are everywhere. Up on Lake Mohave, striper fishing is doing very well. Local angler Dan Peightal landed a nice 7.86-pound striper measuring 28 inches while fishing from shore near Davis Dam using anchovies.
