Anglers continue to catch bluegill, bass and catfish throughout the day. Hotdog pieces and night crawlers are performing well for catfish as well as bluegill. A few bass have been caught on 3-inch craws and Ned rigs. As a reminder, no fish or fish parts may be used as bait in local park waters.

The best action has occurred south of Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area. Striped bass are being caught on cut anchovies being trolled below Big Bend. Smallmouth bass are reacting well to creature baits thrown along drop-offs. Catfish are active near vegetation and bite on chicken liver or anchovies. Anglers are catching trout from shore using night crawlers and glittery PowerBait.

The Truckee has been fishing quite well this week along most stretches of river due to good water temps just about everywhere right now, except from Lockwood downstream, where the persistent warm water coming out of Steamboat Creek has been keeping that section a bit too warm still. We would also recommend fishing anywhere from Hirschdale downstream, where the flows would be at their best.

Flows are measuring around 76 CFS out of Tahoe City, 65 CFS through the town of Truckee, 73 CFS near Glenshire, and 502 CFS at Farad. Most of the water coming into the Truckee River is coming out of Boca now. This is typical for this time
