Access to The Lake is Now Permitted

Access to the lake is now permitted. There is around 5 inches of safe ice along the shore and 6 to 9 inches of ice in the middle.  Fishing pressure has been low so no report on how fishing has been.  Expect fair to good fishing for 10 to12 inch fish using PowerBait or worms on small jigs. Please follow the signs showing the lake

Mostly Open Water

CCR is mostly open water and much of the reservoir open to shoreline fishing.  Any remaining ice should be considered unsafe and anglers are advised to stay off the ice.  Anglers should be able to catch trout on a variety of tackle including spinners, wet flies, nightcrawlers, and powerbait.

Lake is Sitting At Capacity

The reservoir remains at capacity and ice is sitting at 8to 10 inches throughout the lake.  Some variation in ice depth may be present were the creek comes into the lake and anglers should use caution when fishing this area.  Anglers will do well on nightcrawlers, mealworms, a variety of jigs, wet flies, and powerbait.

Eagle Valley Reservoir Fishing Report

 Much of the lake is covered with ice, and the recent drop in temperatures should help keep it that way. Trout are hitting on PowerBait and night crawlers. Striper Action Has Picked Up Significantly

Striper action below Davis Dam has picked up significantly. Shore anglers are catching stripers as large as 15 pounds using anchovies and a variety of shad colored lures. The water level is lower than usual, so boaters are urged to use caution. Rainbow trout are biting just south of Casino Row. Fish are averaging 12 inches in length and are favoring PowerBait over night crawlers.

Lake Mohave/ Willow Beach Fishing Report

Boaters at Willow Beach are catching striped bass in the 10-pound range using jerkbaits fished on down riggers. Las Vegas Urban Ponds Fishing Report

During the cool winter months, stocked rainbow trout can be found in ponds at Floyd Lamb, Lorenzi, Sunset and Veterans Memorial parks. There is a 3-fish limit at each of these urban ponds. The trout will bite on night crawlers, various shades of PowerBait, meal worms and mini marshmallows. Sometimes a small piece of marshmallow combined with a small worm will fool the wariest trout.

Good Action on Striped Bass

Anglers are reporting good action for striped bass around Kingman Wash. The fish are hitting topwater baits and soft swimbaits. Shore anglers are averaging about 10 fish a day. Record weekend temps and now single digits.  We set some records over the weekend for daytime temps. Today, it’s in the single digits with an East wind, brrrr. We had a great streamer clinic, still some spots for this Saturday’s clinic. The fishing has been good out on the East side on the lower Truckee River in Nevada.
