Spring is here and Baily is fishing very well for stocked trout. As temperatures increase, the grteen sunfish will start to turn on again. Salmon eggs or small worms under a bobber and power worms or power bait off the bottom is always effective at Baily. The Carson is the first river starting to show signs of spring. Flows are up to about 1000cfs making it tough to fish. Large spinners seem to be the best bet for planters around broken dam. Clarity has been hit or miss depending on the day and temperatures. Fly fisherman are finding a few trout on streamers and large nymphs.

Bilk has been slow for bass and should pick up for trout when stocking begins again this spring. Crawlers off the bottom will producer bass and trout through the summer.

No recent reports from Blue due to limited/no access during the winter months. Fishing should be great when there is access again later this spring.

Trout fishing is slow at Dacey and Adams-McGill, though anglers are having some success with PowerBait, spinners and flies. Anglers fishing Haymeadow are finding good action with spinners and plastic worms.

Stocked tiger trout are taking Rooster Tails and Woolly Buggers, but rainbow trout are slower to hit lines. Anglers are using worms, rainbow PowerBait and meal worms to get the most bites. All campsites and amenities are open and ready for weekend anglers.

The water level has been dropped to facilitate repairs on the dam and will be low until further notice. The shoreline is soft and muddy in many places. Fishing opportunities are very limited. Please use caution in the area.a

Seasonal trout plants have stopped, but anglers are still catching trout at sunrise and sunset below Davis dam and through the casino area. The fish are taking Rooster Tails, PowerBait and worms. Black bass are biting on plastics and crankbaits while catfish are hitting anchovies and chicken livers below Big Bend State Recreation Area.

Stripers are taking anchovies and jointed rainbow trout pattern swimbaits. Some fish are reaching double-digits. Anglers are bringing in rainbow trout on PowerBait, worms and Rooster Tails early in the day below Willow Beach. Black bass are showing signs of spawning in coves. Smallmouth bass are taking plastics and jigs in coves with vegetation.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife recently stocked channel catfish at the community fishing ponds. The catfish are already hitting lines at Floyd Lamb and Sunset Parks. Anglers are using night crawlers and stink baits. There are a few hold-over rainbow trout to catch in the early mornings. Bluegill are starting to hit on mealworms later in the day.

Fishing is good. Black Bass are hitting drop-shot rigs with creature baits and deep-diving crankbaits. Stripers are hitting on anchovies from shore near Boxcar Cove and outside Hemenway Harbor.
